Absolutely no care was taken in figuring out who was going to replace the country's leadership after the head of state was bombed to death. Iran is the embodiment of bureaucracy, backed by a zealous theocracy. Disentangling their power structure isn't going to be as easy as smash-n-grabbing Maduro whilst flipping his disloyal vice president and underequipped armed forces.

It's poetic finally seeing everything come full circle with Trump crossing the one line neither Bush ever dreamed of. I think the new guideline should be blaming the last guy is acceptable during the first hundred days and should eventually wind down before the first State of the Union.
I agree, Obama was lucky enough to have the charisma and stamina to weather the finger-pointing and nonsensical attacks from right-wing media despite living by his wife's naïve mantra of "When they go low, we go high", but 2021-2024 Biden didn't have that kind of stamina, so he got skewered every single day after he entered office, refusing to blame Trump for handing him a mess.
Biden's whole social platform was "unity" and trying to depolarize the country by letting bygones be bygones and staying hands-off in regards to Trump's legal issues, which backfired since the right wing spent 4 straight years seething and driving themselves insane, never once taking their minds off of November 8th, 2020 or January 6th which got them to self-polarize with even more fervor than before.
