I mean you don't have to agree with the war, but it's easy to understand the benefits it would bring if successful.

1. Nukes, yeah yeah 2 weeks away and all that. But if Iran ever did get nukes we would be looking at another North Korea, but much stronger and slightly less retarded.

2. Neutralizing Iran's proxies. They've been funding terrorism in the region since what? The fifties? The US has allies in the region they want to protect because they help uphold the Petrodollar, the backbone of the American empire.

3. Control of the strait, again, this helps uphold the Petrodollar, prevents Iran from strong harming other nations. On the other hand it also allows the US to hold immense power over China, they get like half their oil from there, they would be looking at a massive energy crisis if the strait is blocked for just a couple of months. China is already pressuring Iran to open it.


In the short term Russia is a significant winner, oil prices go up which helps them, and China becomes more dependent on their imports.

They've already abandoned the premise of this being a short conflict and trump + heg did not rule it out like yesterday. The end goal of this war has been complete regime change which you can't bomb your way to. Air only wars do not overthrow govts and they dont force surrender. Now that the Iranian people arent rising up to do the overthrowing part for us, whose going to do it? Israel is too chickenshit to sacrifice the thousands of men a traditional groundwar would take, so that leaves us.

I knew some people who were assigned to train the Saudi military. The officers and NCO's seemed to all be princes and distant family members of the Saud family. They were not used to working, being told what to do, following instructions, or anything related to the military really. Most of them were marginally competent at best, but American trainers do not fail princes, it's just not allowed. The Sauds themselves seemed confused about situation and didn't understand why the Americans were trying to get them to actually learn or do anything.

north korea is annoying but their location is remote, they are a problem for south korea and a minor nuisance for japan, beyond that they don't matter.
iran on the other hand controls access to one of the worlds most important shipping routes and is positioned to influence the caucasus, the middle east, the arabian peninsula, central asia, and south asia, plus the caspian sea and the indian ocean. having an insane lunatic nation in that position is already bad, if they were to become untouchable due to nuclear power status it would be a disaster.
