Wow, a lot has happened. Iran's getting bombed, the Supreme Leader is dead not long after the bombing's started. Lots of doomers coming from the shadows.
I also got a sick new PFP. Did it in Grok, though it'd be centered around the name. Dragon going stealth in the desert (for obvious reasons concerning current events).
Can someone explain to me why South Korea apparently elected a CCP puppet as their president? I thought they were based?
Let's discuss South Korea during these trying times! Your question seems to have been ignored! So I will answer it, unless it already has, then my bad.
So yeah, a lot had happened in South Korea that slipped under the radar in December of 2024, I think some might be aware of it. It gained a good bit of online traction. I'd appreciate any corrections since this is basically a tl;dr version.
The conservative (now ex) president Yoon Suk Yeol, had known a lot of members in the congressional wing of the democrats had ties to the CCP, including his opponent, Lee Jae-myung. He was surrounded by them. So what did he do? The most
logical action one would do...
He declared martial law
He essentially blinked and panicked. Of course, this didn't sit well with everyone. No one at all, actually. His attempt was to try to protect democracy, but as you can see, it did
not go in his favor.
The opposition wanted this. What happened next to poor Yoon Suk Yeol?
He was impeached in December 14, 2024. And a snap election in June of 2025 was held where his China loving opponent won bigly
Welp. That's unfortunate.
So Lee Jae-myung is now president, despite his ties to the CCP and North Korea. Yikes.
What about Yoon Suk Yeol? Whatever happened to him?
Yeah, about that...
He's now serving a life sentence because of the martial law he declared.
His sentencing happened not long ago, in February of this year (2026).
Hope that answers your question! (I also archived all the links)
Back to you, Kiwis.
