No, there is no infantry and equipment buildup which takes months to get into theater. It would also be political suicide to start a ground war after the nation building exercises of Iraq and Afghanistan.

Most that will happen will be some special forces and CIA operations for limited targets.

There is always a chance, but that depends how things unfold in the next few weeks. As it's looking right now? It's not very likely even then maybe some special ops and such but a full invasion like Iraq/Afghanistan? Very unlikely.

Why should I care? How about instead of whining, layout your timeline of events from the 1950s to 1979? I know the CIA introduced crack to black folks, I know that agencies have conducted top secret experiments with syphilis, there are countless examples of my country being objectively evil. The problem is, the past holds no relevance to the present or future. It is acknowledged and some wisdom carries over but we can't change it.
