Gulf countries were also informed that, no matter what, they would also get a taste if anything happened again since they all host American installations that are still contributing to the war even if no airstrikes are being launched there.

Egypt's peak of economic activity and influence came under christianity as far as I'm concerned. under the Romans Egypt was the key source of food and taxes. Alexandria specifically was the 2nd or 3rd most populous and rich city in the world for a loooonnng time.

if the US was going to invade there'd have been massive troop deployments and a calling up of reserves. all of that would take months. you'd need at least 500,000 combat troops for a decent invasion.
