Third possibility - these are Third world militaries that promote and position people based on loyalty and political connections rather than competence, and so the people in charge of AD didn't properly set up or maintain their equipment. I was hearing some rumors that that was the case in Venezuela - that the Russians had shown them how to set up and deploy the SAM/Radar combo arrays, but they never did so outside of maybe a few times done solely for national demonstration purposes.

Idk maybe two? Depends on how willing the Iranian people are to help overthrow the government, since Trump has made it clear he's not interested in nation-building.
If they help, great. If not, I can see it taking the whole month as they ensure every last scrap of military ordinance is destroyed.

I fucking hate the fringe left so much. These cringe larpers keep talking about how they'll engage in some glorious revolushun but never actually have the gumption to get off their ass and do anything besides bitch about how the Democrats are evil and need to be taken over. They acknowledge the power of a vote but would rather stew in their own misery demanding that other people do the work for them.

It's possible to condemn this war as unnecessary whilst also not shedding tears for the now-dead Ayatollah and acknowledging that the Iranian people were oppressed by him.

I think it's dependent on when the people take to the street en-masse to effect regime change. That's clearly the desired end game here. Whereupon we'd probably want to stay overhead to provide support during that phase.

Trump's four week figure, and his comment about how "they'll never have a better chance for generations" (paraphrase) suggests he's not prepared to stick around forever.

You're confused - their role isn't actually to do anything. Their role is to rile up insane people to do it for them while sowing Fear, Uncertainty, and Doubt in the host country.

If they actually did something, their ties to their masters abroad would be investigated and those countries would suffer blowback.

Theoretically, what is stopping, say Russia or China from just giving Iran munitions capable of hitting Israel's ICBMs or just longer range missile silos and platforms?

Obviously the ideal option is a people-supported change to a more reasonable government.

But if that doesn't go through, regular bombings might be the long term measure. If the latest supreme commander mutters "Death to america" as he fucks his favorite goat at night, he gets a tomahawk through his roof within 24 hours.

Other than the fact that Iran is being blown up right now and any shipment of weapons will likely arrive long after the US has wrapped up in the region?

Reality isn't a Paradox map game. You don't just teleport stuff to active warzones.
