Actually he starts out with curly quotes. I don't have any objection to either type but the inconsistency pisses me off. I'm generally pretty stodgy in drafting and almost never use anything other than Times New Roman or Courier New and generally prefer sticking to characters that exist in 7-bit ASCII.

It reminds me of a boss of mine who had a pet peeve about the misuse of that/which. She'd object to any misuse of it. To this day whenever I write something I go on a "which hunt" to find these solecisms.

The one near me has a Subway (lol) and a Bomb Burritos in the same building. Waddle a little further and you have Dutch Bros and a place that sells cookies.

Even the Anytime Fitness that I use (it's closest to my job) is right next to a Subway, a KFC/A&W hybrid, and a pizza joint. You almost start to wonder if this shit is on purpose.

One thing I like about LaTeX is that it works in 7-bit (the unicode extensions to it are the very devil).

So much fucking shit is caused by people using non-7 bit ASCII and they can fuck right off with their weird usernames and shit that looks like chicken scrawl.

My upstairs computer is working...a new chain of friendly gym locations, painted as one of those "come as you are" spaces like those fag churches in red states. Memberships are dirt cheap. Kajigger all the cardio equipment/fitness regimens etc. to use calories for the ones you've burned working out. Offer congratulatory goodies like Eclaires of Encouragement and Not-Sick-Skittles. List their caloric content in kilocalories. Say the proceeds go to some disabled troonoid charity.

calories burned on a treadmill: xxx,xxx for 15 minute jog
calories consumed at the empowerment lounge: XXXX for a few candy bars, sensibly priced at five dollar a pound

Convinced they're losing weight, the land monsters keep coming. Sweating out the equivalent of half a twinkie only to consume two large medium pizzas at the end. By the time those shitheads figure it out, private equity takes it over and I'm long gone.

One stipulation: No Russells allowed. Gotta have some kinda code here.
