People say WW1 was senseless because the only thing that ultimately resulted from it was WW2. But even then, the allied forces had some sense of victory. The Kaiser was deposed and the Austro-Hungarian Empire and the Ottoman Empire was dissolved. Even the Korean War ended with one side being a beacon of prosperity and the other side being synonymous with being hell on earth.

Iran-Iraq was the pinnacle of wasted lives. Both Saddam Hussein and the Ayatollah Assashollah got to wave their dicks around while generations of young men were wasted in the desert sands. The only people who appreciated the sacrifices made in that war were the propagandists who had to spin their deaths into something worth glorifying. Neither of them meant much because ultimately, America owns them all.

More to the point, they're actively simping for a man who's measurably worse than his predecessor despite having almost identical surnames.

Imam Khomeini had an acrimonious reputation even within Shia clerical circles, but it was generally understood that he was 100% qualified to be a marja'a (aka the Ayatollah; al-Sistani and Khomeini were equals despite the latter's grandiose title).

Ali Khameini is basically viewed, almost universally within Shia clerical circles, as an incompetent hack who's only a marja'a because his predecessor in Imam Khomeini chose him to be his successor.

Also, Khameini actively squandered countless opportunities that were presented, actively aggravated and stoked new tensions that led to worse and worse sanctions being piled on, and kept doubling and tripling down no matter what happens next.

The worst economic damage that happened to the Islamic Republic of Iran happened under Khameini's tenure. And remember: Khomeini was the retard who irrevocably severed diplomatic relations with the USA due to the hostage crisis (thanks @Hey Johnny Bravo for cluing me in on that much).

Imagine simping for a Shia cleric who was, quite literally, a bonehurt version of a Shia cleric that was already a colossal fuckup in countless ways.... and fucking up worse than the guy who came before you.

America is not allowed to act within its own interests unless a named Democrat is at the head of all possible things; and EVEN then, it MUST do so blindfolded with both hands tied behind its back and everybody else clued in on our exact plan of action two days in advance. They will forever be stuck advocating eternal contrarianism before a caricature of Conservatism that can only ever act in a single, predictable way no matter how detrimental it is to the health and cohesion of the country as a whole. In fact, it's better to them that America finds no success, we're oppressors and bullies and we deserve to be humiliated and raped for the amusement of our betters.

Why do you think Canada and Europe throw a constant frothing tardrage over the smallest, pettiest shit these days?

They believe they are on "the right side of history" and that's it.

To them it's over. All problems have already been solved. They are on the right side of history, there is no further discussion needed. Anything that goes against that belief is wrong.

It's called thought termination.

What a lovely special operation. Biggest takeaway for me is if there is a way to declare somali enclaves and sanctuary cities foreign soil to let Trump do what he clearly does best.
 
Like Venezuela, there are plenty of Iranians that remember the before times. Not to mention the lack of water, same way many Venezuelans are starving. So even younger generations know their governments fucked them.

Leftists and third worlders think they are like WH Orks where if they believe in something enough it will come true. That's why Iran lied about Khomeini being dead for like 5 hours for no reason and keeps talking about releasing a never before seen secret weapon "soon"
