Iran hasn't used its ballistic missiles or the closure of the Strait of Hormuz to compel worship. Why would they start compelling worship with what amounts to bigger warheads? Nukes aren't an I-Win button. they ensure the other side loses too.

Well duh. Either they believe they're resurrected as someone up the ladder or they get some tasty virgin ass in heaven. Either way death doesn't have the same finite quality as for the average westerner (even if they believe in afterlife too).

I think the global existential threat is a little overstated. They’re belligerent yes but mostly an existential threat to Israel (barely though). If they have nukes it would make overt regime change operations like this much more risky though, so it makes sense they are rolling the dice on it BEFOFE Iran gets a nuke.

Otherwise if Iran gets nukes they have to keep up the cat-and-mouse game against Iranian belligerence until the regime softens, which might never happen.

You clearly have no military background, and even less knowledge on the actual crux of the situation going on here. This isn't just about Israel, the bottom line is that Iran has a lot of oil and resources, and China needs them more than the US. But just like supporting Ukraine against Russia to bleed them miltarily this is a proxy war against China for a bigger goal in the Middle East which I believe is letting the Arab Sunnis and the Shia fight each other so the US can hit and split. This is Biblical shit. Sunnis consider the Shia minority heretics and would love them wiped off the map. 90% of Mudslimes around the globe are Sunni. The Shitites are 7th century throwbacks who worship some goat fucking martyred Imam. I forget his name because I don't give a shit, but mark my words the US is trying to get Saudi Arabia and the Gulf States to put boots on ground in Iran so we don't have to.
I have many friends who fled to the US after the Shah was overthrown and I really want to see a free democratic Persia again like the cosmopolitan Iran of the 60's and 70's. The Shah was an asshole, but he wasn't Pol Pot.
Iran is no pushover manpower wise, but it appears they're just blindly firing off the missiles they have left because their leadership is basically gone. I'd be very surprised if there's anyone really calling the shots, or they would have tried to hit a carrier, or something more substantial.
Qud forces going rogue is dangerous because they're brainwashed radicals, but if you cut off the head of the snake (Khamenei) and knock off, or bribe top generals who are giving the orders then the house of cards falls apart. Like I said in a previous post this is going to take awhile it will not be like Shock and Awe. If I were Pahvlavi and his family in exile I wouldn't book tickets to Tehran just yet.

If Russia were as capable as the US is, it should have been able to kill Zelensky and completely cripple Ukraine's defences in a day, before even sending ground troops in. It could not break Ukraine's defences in weeks, and had to abandon the northern theatre in March 2022, well before substantial Western aid started flowing in. The fact is Russia cannot do to a country it shares a border with what the US can do to a country twice as big on the other side of the planet.

It can take territory, yes... over 4 years, with a million casualties, and its enemy still in the fight.

And the aid is just another piece of the puzzle. America and Europe can send far more capable weapons systems to their allies in a more effective manner than Russia or China can. Iran has some S-300 AA systems and Chinese radars that are achieving fuck all, and it will get nothing more, so as not to piss off the US.

If you really think Russia and China arming Iran more would prevent Total American Domination, you are delusional.
 
All this direct action Trump 2 has taken against America's enemies makes all the pussyfooting they've been doing for the past few decades seem a bit pointless.
 
I say "finally" at this point. That government is responsible for so much of the bullshit, death and misery in the mid-east over the last ~50 years or so. So much dysfunction and militancy/terrorism too. They've been one of the principle backers of violence and conflict in and around Israel as well. Pretty intent on making sure there is never a peace. (in Israel, and by secondary effect, in the entire region) To say nothing of their attempts at building a cold war style regional empire/sphere and the destabilizing effects of those efforts. Just one look at the list of those they have been attacking in the last 24h should make the point even more clear.

Thoughts and prayers to all those Americans and Israelis fighting, as well to any Iranian freedom fighters and civilians suck in this on either side. Let it be as quick and surgical as possible.
