Well deserved win. Guess other canadians just forgot that it's number of goals that actually count from some of the cope I have been seeing.
"Erm actually most American teams have Canadians and hockey is Canadian so basically Canada did win. And also how can you care who won a hockey game when Ukraine literally exists???"

INCORRECT FEATURE DESCRIPTION MR. NULL I'll have you know that my maple syrup ass and real Canadians are VERY HAPPY that the US won. THANK YOU AMERICA for making the faggot ass boomers (and other queers) here seethe with an intensity that warms this frozen wasteland. Their LGBT nationalism has been crushed and I hope soon that they will apply for MAID.

America ain't fully perfect, but no place truly is. And looking at Canada, with it's promotion of state funded Euthanasia and demographic replacement, you can't help but feel thankful to live in this great republic. Feels good man, real good.

Hey as an american that does care this shit is gay as fuck. Go watch nigger ball 1 where they run down a field or niggerball 2 where they put it through a hoop you faggot. I hate that theyve nuetred hockey to try and discourage fighting because hockey is the last bastion of masculinity.
Fucking football has faggot niggers doing choreographed fucking touchdown celebrations, basketball is euro as fuck with the fucking pratfalls trying to draw a foul. Im fucking mad that nigger on the downlow faggot culture is being forced down the pipeline. Throw me my hats, this shit gets me heated.
>Sees black athletes on TV
>Copes and seethes
>ourentirecultureiscenteredaround.mp3
>Nuclear level meltdown

Watching a grown man lose his shit over a bunch of chimpanzees playing with their balls is the truest joy in sports fandom. :drink:

I've never been to Canada but Montreal is the only major city I want to visit. How is it? I've also heard great things about Quebec City, might do that first.
Montreal has stuff to do in it. The restaurants are better than Toronto, and the night life is good. The old city in Quebec City is gorgeous and well worth a tour. The Quebecers may give you a ton of attitude and english knowledge is spotty in Quebec city. Montreal everyone knows a little english.

Miracle on ICE

Montreal is kinda dingy and a lot of it looks like it's trapped in the 60s-70s (the metro system is basically a time capsule) but it's a lot of fun and very Anglophone so it's easy to navigate. Quebec City is very European-feeling, quieter-sleepier and much more mono-linguistically Francophone.

Given the few Quebecquois I interacted with over in BC, don't expect them to be polite, at least in English-speaking standards.

Oh, they are uniformly fucking assholes. I just think they are able to repress the French ability to completely and totally disagreeable at all times in exchange for tourist dollars.

I was actually wondering where it came from. The closest direct example of Ice Hockey is a Netherlands game called IJscolf, played with sticks and a ball on ice. Of course, because Canada wants to stick to being the origin of it, they also do a fucking land acknowledgement about how ACTUALLY it was the natives who created it, and the european games of shinty and hurling that existed for hundreds of years just kinda contributed to it.

We deserve to never win another game till we end this cuck shit. So fucking annoying.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: the Americans are quite clearly the Kings of Hockey.

They just won the Olympic gold medal in men’s hockey, they won the women’s gold medal in Olympic hockey, and they’ve won every Stanley Cup since 1993. That is unparalleled dominance..

However, I do feel bad for many Canadians because I understand that hockey is their main source of cultural identity, it’s by far their number one sport (no, it’s not lacrosse), and there are still many Canadians who haven’t been infected by far left wacko insanity in politics and who are actually decent and very nice people.

I think Canadian teams suffer from poor ownership and poor culture over anything else. They aren't desirable locations for free agents and why get traded to a bad market.

I just realized I left off Ottawa on my list.

Same story, bad owner who got way too involved with everything with the team. Eugene Melynk was way too into hockey and kept inserting himself in the media after ten years with the team. When Erik Karlsson got his achilles tendon accidentally slashed by Matt Cooke, he insisted in being in the press conference pressing the league to do something about Cooke and players like him while forcing the captain and long time franchise player Daniel Alfredsson to sit next to him. Alfredsson was clearly uncomfortable publicly criticizing Cooke because Cooke for the last two seasons cleaned up his game. Players didn't like Melynk as an owner and Ottawa was on a lot of no trade lists. Melynk was a cheapskate and wouldn't spring for good catered food for the players in pregame and the facilities were pretty mediocre. With Ottawa an already boring city to live in a professional athlete, its hard to attract talent. Melynk was held responsible for poor team performance in the early 2020s and attendance dropped in half. Fans were frustrated, especially when he was trying to finesse a tax payer funded stadium.

It wasn't all bad with the Senators. The Senators were really good for most of the 2000s with a Stanley Cup final in 2007 (lost to a stacked Anaheim). Ottawa had a lot of good players but management kept tinkering with the roster with a fateful decision to trade Marian Hossa for Dany Heatley. The senators in the 2010s for the most part played tough, physical hockey but had lockerroom issues and when the whole Karlsson - Hoffman bullying incident happened in 2018. I could go on about GM Pierre Dorion's misteps but he occasionally had the right idea for a player to draft, the problem was he failed at half the things he was doing and that's not good enough. At one point a team of all the active players Ottawa traded could be made and actually be a competitive team. After Melynk did the best thing he could do for the senators, die, the new ownership kept Dorion around until his dumbass forgot to notify the Vegas Golden Knights a player he just traded had a no trade list so when the Knights tried trading said player to a team on the list, an league incident occurred. The league determined Dorion acted in error and bad faith so the senators forfeited their badly needed first round pick.

Same story like the rest, dumb owner hiring dumb people. Thinking about it, I think the issue Canadian teams with bad owners have is they take the fan base for granted as if it is guaranteed income since ice hockey is so popular. If you go to a non-traditional market, presumably an owner has to be smarter about it and thus the need to hire the best people available for the job.
