I love how the individual mandate in Obama care wasn’t a tax at first but then turned into a tax as was advantageous, but now tariffs are taxes instead of trade balance tools

Trump should just put a license fee on every country, since he said in his conference that is apparently legal but tariffs aren’t.

are you in a wheelchair with a helmet on right now? if the tariffs actually "worked" and stopped global commerce then we would have to contend with making our own stuff so even if you got that cush button pusher job at a factory youd be spending 5x on the shit you buy so your buying power would still be worse than without tariffs at all. the jobs that they bring back would probably pay more than whatever menial low paying job you have now, but if youre working on an iphone assembly line then how are you going to afford to pay $4k for a new made in the USA iphone? and thats scenario is the END GOAL of the tariffs. in the meantime, you just get to pay more money for the same shit in the form of indirect federal taxes.
