I remember him from times before the GDQ moment when I was a young teenager in the early 2010s, he was just as bad back then but everyone in that community (Kingdom Hearts Roleplayers) were equally autistic and full of sexual degeneracy so nothing he did back then really stuck out other than joining Chatzy servers to roleplay with 12 and 13 year olds, I'm wondering how much people in this thread know about his Facebook page rp days.

Probably doesn't leave his home any more except to get more instant noodles at the nearest convenience store. He's so greasy I doubt he's had a proper wash since he got back to Japan.

He hasn't updated his Japanese Twitter since December or replied to anyone with it since January 4th. I think his Nihon dreams are falling apart right before his eyes. He's got no money, his English teaching teaching job hours are at 0, and his Japanese "friends" have ghosted him because he's a gross obnoxious gaijin. Even by anime standards he's failed. He's not a young kid who took a gamble to go on a grand adventure and pursue his passion while making deep bonds and fulfilling friendships along the way. He's a middle-aged man who blew up his life to move to a country where he fits in even less than he does at home, awkwardly hovers around the edges of his hobby that he's way too old for, and he now sits alone in an apartment while everyone he knows is "too busy" to drink with him. Enjoy sitting around for the remaining 6 months of your visa, Chibi!

I think he hasn't used his twitter because one of his tranny jannies stalks this thread and told him about it being archived daily. Plus, he really has no reason to tweet, he doesn't go out and cosplay anymore. He obsessed over moving to Japan for years just to end up doing the same shit he did in the U.S. lol. I'd be more forgiving of Chibi if he kept IRL streaming and being entertaining instead of boring ass vidya streams.

Dropping the "caveman trooned out" meme aside just for this moment to say, Chibi talks about that event like it ruined Caveman's life but he's doing really well as far as I know. There was that recent clip of him at GDQ where he very much upped his public speaking game. Unlike Chibi, I have no reason to believe Caveman's even bothered about that Tomba 2 incident. He has yet to capitalise on it, though. He should let's play that remaster and theme it around that video. A weird "umm ackshully" on my part but Chibi is really trying to overblow the effect that video had on Caveman just to make it seem like they're both victims of the same feather lol

For all the talk of the job being a scam, it isn't. Or at least not in the traditional sense, its supposed to be a scam everyone's in on.
Basically he works a private "English language training school". The idea is you're supposed use it to get a long Japanese visa, go see the country while enjoying the benefits of having a non-tourist visa, and just work enough hours to offset costs and keep the Japanese government from asking questions.
That's why he wasn't fired for fucking off for two weeks. he's almost certainly working at a place that just accepts foreigners will flake out and go party with friends.
That is for older buildings or ones out in the boonies. Anything after 2010 and probably after 2000 int he major urban areas is going to have central heat/cooling.
The game has changed, this pathway is much harder now and I'd argue impossible for Cheebs. A lot of thsoe sort of support jobs have moved remote. The pay scale isn't as good anymore.
Cheebs was offered a posting in Kansai where he'd have been able to get some social action going just by being the Token Foreigner.

I have thought about this for a bit and all I can think of is Dunning-Kruger? Especially with his reaction to getting his diploma on stage despite having his discord kittens do everything for him, it makes me think that he just ignorantly assumes he's an awesome influencer.
Eh, I always find this aspect to be overblown because Western countries have this exact same concept too, it's not that special. What I DO think is genuinely challenging is the idea of keeping the peace (和) if I were to sum it up it would be the Japaneses' ability to make every professional interaction as scripted as possible combined with this idea that you must avoid direct conflict at all costs, no matter what deceitful and underhanded technique is required to do so. So to keep it relevant to Chibi imagine that he wants something from someone, a friendship, gf, working hours, etc. The Japanese way of interaction basically funnels people into saying "Yeah sure, absolutely" and then immediately ghosting or ignoring him. It can get more insidious like leaving secret messages (or posting publicly shaming notices in disguise) to tell someone to stop doing something. But Chibi's Nippon level is not high enough to experience such advanced techniques. Honestly I am not too well versed in it myself but it's subtle and everywhere and a little different than just refraining from saying the truth.

If we're talking homes then yes. Homes built in Tokyo or just outside would have heated floors for the winter as being an option. Dunno about cooling but I would assume they have some kind of system for that but there's one thing that Japan likes to do is stay with what works. It's why buildings built in the 80's lack any real kind of insulation so even at home if you don't have some kind of baseboard heater or wall unit it can get a little cold. Most office buildings have the heating / cooling going on.
As for apartments? As far as I know that's still done room by room. And a lot of newer places have a bathroom heater which you turn on to dry your clothes. But central still isn't a thing in most buildings.
It all comes down to cost. You can have it installed but it's going to cost a LOT.
He was so fucking stupid not to take that one. It was something like half an hour away from Osaka and about the same distance to Nara and that is one beautiful area. But no. He needed Tokyo for... reasons.

You're right. unless its a heat pump they likely won't have central cooling; new homes still do the per-room AC thing, but the hot-air vents are now part of the construction plan instead of an after thought. Central heating is now a thing.
And when I say "Central heating" for low-rise apartments, I mean as much as any US low rise has it; there would be dedicated unit for the aparment and internal duct work.
I guess the other thing to consider is probably newer construction is outside Cheeb's price range. he's likely in somethign from the 80s or 90s.
anyway,
tl;dr: who needs central heating when you have a kotatsu, gaijinbaka?
