From your anecdotal experience how is it being received?
it's being filtered through the msm and layers of "experts" giving commentaries and opinions on it
i'm not super plugged in when it comes to this shit because i despise my countrys media too much to closely follow their reporting, the overall takeaway seems to mainly consist of shit like
>america is betraying nato
>american government are far right extremists spreading dangerous divisive propaganda
>americans are pathetic and embarrassing for clinging to absurd outdated views
might be different in other euro countries, idk

Look at how quick all of you turn with a little bit of pushback. Oh my God we don't agree on 100% of everything. You fucking poofters are acting like a bunch of DEMOCRATS right now.
Well you don't have to like it but you will learn to accept that that's my opinion. I'm allowed to have a different one than you because that's what keeps This thread from being a retarded gay echo chamber.
Some of you are just jealous because you aren't Snow White like my beautiful ass. Don't hate the pigmentation hate the game, player :story:
In all seriousness though, I am glad that I do get push back once in awhile for my opinions cuz it really would be boring as hell if we all just towed one line and never had a disagreement.
I fucking love you guys :'(
why would they want legal immigrants? im a legal immigrant and look how much of a pain in the ass i am
counterpoint: the american black population is pretty much stable at this point, and they tend to self-segregate
it's very difficult to see how stable it actually is. my googling around doesn't show anything useful because it counts African immigrants as African American. Tariq Nasheed was right, we need to distinguish foundational black americans vs immigrants

alleviate the issue by promising to spare the suffering of billions of shrimp through mandatory stunning equipment on fishing boats

Imagine that you came across 1,500 shrimp about to be painfully killed. They were going to be thrown onto ice where slowly, agonizingly, over the course of 20 minutes, they’d suffocate and freeze to death at the same time, a bit like suffocating in a suitcase in the middle of Antarctica. Imagine them struggling, gasping, without enough air, fighting for their lives, but it’s no use.

Fortunately, there’s a machine that will stun every shrimp, so that they’ll be unconscious during their deaths, rather than in extreme agony. But the machine is broken. To fix it, you’d have to spend a dollar. Should you do so? We can even sweeten the deal and imagine that the machine won’t just be used this year—it will be used year after year, saving 1,500 shrimp per year.

It seems obvious that you should spend the dollar. Extreme agony is bad. If you can prevent literally thousands of animals from being in extreme agony for the cost of a dollar—for around a fourth of the cost of a cup of coffee—of course you should do so! It’s common sense. In fact, this would be the best dollar you spent all year—every penny would save 16 shrimp from an agonizing death per year!
It turns out, this scenario isn’t just a hypothetical. One of the best charities you can give to is called the shrimp welfare project (if you want to donate monthly, you can do so here). For every dollar it gets, it saves about 1,500 shrimp from a painful death every year.

The way it works is simple and common sense: it gives stunners to companies that kill shrimp so long as they agree to use them to stun at least 120 million shrimp. They also secure welfare commitments from corporations to stop crushing the eyes of live shrimp in order to increase their fertility and to use humane slaughter (e.g. they worked with Tesco to get an extra 1.6 billion shrimp stunned before slaughter every year). In total, they’ve helped around 2.6 billion shrimp per year, despite operating on a shoestring budget.

This makes them around 30 times better at reducing suffering and promoting well-being than the highly effective animal charities focused on chicken welfare which themselves are hundreds or thousands of times more effective than the best charities helping humans. It costs thousands of dollars to save a human, but the best animal charities help hundreds of animals per dollar.

Antisemitism feels kinda lame now. It used to be the ultimate form of provoking people into rage but now it’s just become normieized complete with being turned into nonsensical brainrot. I miss old antisemitism.

It just means he's at his youngest an 80s kid, so mid-40s. Any younger and schools stopped teaching it.

That or the text is genAI.
I was born in 1988, and I was schooled mainly in Australia which still teaches cursive.
"Haha, I can't wait for Trump to die, so many people are going to be so happy! I hope he dies tomorrow!"

The ramifications lurking just around the corner:

SAY THANK YOU NOW.
Polls have not been relevant since 2016.
You mean the same polls that said Hillary and Kamala were going to win in tremendous landslides? :story:

I have to disagree because almost everybody that I've ever met from India learned to adapt to the American way of life.
You've dealt with enough "US-Residing Indians" to refer to them as "almost everybody", and then make this absurd anecdote?
You don't, say, watch them struggle to understand very simple concepts at work or send people fully ai-generated emails? You don't watch them insist on telling people who know what they're doing what to do while being confidently and loudly wrong? You don't watch them sit in the passing lane at the exact speed limit and prevent faster traffic from passing, while ironically making very dangerous blind maneuvers? You don't watch them struggle with concepts like recursion or pretend to understand hypothetical exercises? You don't smell them? You don't watch them force the little lunch bar at work to remove all beef? You don't see the little head bob thing they do as they talk at too-loud-a-volume? You don't watch them form little foreign cliques and try to get one over on more trusting people? You don't see them fill supermarkets with cow piss? Have you ever seen one that supports firearms rights or free speech? You haven't seen them sacrificing the task at hand to increase their "izzat"? You haven't seen them taking credit for other people's work?
This list goes on endlessly.
Or, maybe, this is your image of the "American Way Of Life", because it's how you live, because, to you, America is an "Economic Opportunity Zone" and its culture and people are fungible.

This is cope chud
Listen you tub of lard, I asked what was up and you threw a little hiss fit. You MAGAs are God damn insufferable, where anyone with a differing view has to wait for a happening to discuss it in some other thread, rather than just fucking talking about general politics right here in the General Politics thread.

Like sit down and shut the fuck up. We get it, you have a persecution complex after decades of helping them offshore your own jobs by shopping at Walmart. But some of us are trying to keep up with things and understand what's happening in the world. Novel idea, right?

edit: legit, we don't give a fuck about your e-daddy. there are no sacred cows in politics, just the lolcow you worship.

You can't say I was off, to be fair. I should have said near-or-mid-40s.
You were definitely still on the money but I had the unfair advantage of a Straya edjumucation. They never got rid of cursive or the lazy version which is called "running writing".
I find cursive writing to be beautiful so I prefer it over print.

>Was 18 sometime in 2006-2009
>Is now 35-38 year old aging millenial 🧓
>Lived through housing market crash with a valid adult credit score that he could use
My credit score at that point was in the 400's. I couldn't get even get a payday loan back then. Bank accounts didn't pay any interest. Obama destroyed the used car market with Cash-4-clunkers so you couldn't afford to buy a used car anymore.
>Got to buy cigars at 18
I'll give you this one.
>Had like 700 chances to 1000x investment into mainstream crypto
And didn't because nobody knew what the fuck crypto was and damn sure didn't put any real thought into computer money. Come on now, you're abusing hindsight at this point.
>No social media in formative years, no "social missing piece"
Just because you're too young to remember Xanga and Myspace doesn't mean they didn't exist. I grew up with social media in my childhood too. We were totally ignorant and forced onto social media or else be isolated. You couldn't go to study groups in college without having a facebook account because that is where they were all organized. We had no awareness that our posts were going to be used in struggle sessions years later.
>No dating apps so no hypergamy-driven averageman inceldom
No dating apps was way worse. You were limited to the girls you knew in your social circles. The only single ones were batshit crazy and the good choices were paired up immediately. Men were extremely lonely then just like they are now, unless you were Chad.
>Graduated college through the recovery-growth period
You saw a slight decline from the hottest job market in history and think society is collapsing. The recovery starts at the bottom, so i graduated into a cut-throat merit-based job market and had to compete against insanely experienced people who had been laid off but had years or decades of experience. The only way I got in the door was by accepting comically low wages to gain experience. I didn't have the option of working remotely or of searching nationwide for work without having to pack up and move. So that means hours-long commutes into the city because I couldn't afford to live there.
>Has actual living memory of 9/11
Yes, I have living memory of friends I went to high school with dying and being maimed from the Iraq/Afghanistan wars.
I can't wait for you to experience this from the next generation in 20 years. I said and thought all these things about the boomers.

Listen you tub of lard,
OOOH! GET HIM!
I asked what was up and you threw a little hiss fit.
GET HIM!
You MAGAs are God damn insufferable, where anyone with a differing view has to wait for a happening to discuss it in some other thread, rather than just fucking talking about general politics right here in the General Politics thread.
GEEEEET HIIIIIM
Like sit down and shut the fuck up.
GET. HIM.
We get it, you have a persecution complex after decades of helping them offshore your own jobs by shopping at Walmart.
GOD DAMN, GET HIM!
But some of us are trying to keep up with things and understand what's happening in the world. Novel idea, right?
GET HIM!
edit: legit, we don't give a fuck about your e-daddy.
FUCKING GET HIM!
there are no sacred cows in politics, just the lolcow you worship.
GOT HIM!
