I think some people in this community make the mistake of analyzing Chantal through the lens of their own experience or that of normal humans even. Most people would freak out a little if they suddenly lost their main source of income. Gunt is purely id, she flits from urge to urge with no concern beyond satisfying her current urge. Think of Chantal like your cat. Your cat may be 18 years old and never missed a meal except a single time years ago yet it still yowls when it sees only 50 pieces of kibble in its bowl because all the cat knows is NOW. In this moment, the cat is worried it will starve because the bowl is not filled enough for it to feel confident there will be food when it gets hungry again after its next nap. The cat freaks out because it doesn't fully understand the mechanism by which its bowl gets filled, only that the bowl is not full enough to its liking RIGHT MEOW.

I'm probably dissing cats by making this analogy. They certainly have a deeper capacity for love and respect than Chantal. Point is, as long as Chinny has food in her bowl and can nap on demand she's good.

I have nothing to base this on except my own intuition, but I doubt she's paid rent this month. I think she looks at those bills, especially large numbers, panics momentarily and then shrugs, because there's always someone/ something to pad her landing, whether it's Schmee, her loyal Beezers who are dumb as fuck, or someone else.
In this case, I wouldn't be surprised if she didn't try to use it as an emotional guilt plea to Salah, crying "I'm going to be homeless, didn't you love me?!!" to try to get him to leave his father's home and find a home for just them but surprise Foodie, he doesn't give a fuck about you and never did, if you can't get him to Canada.
He's thinking about Canada, she's just thinking about having someone to go get her food, or accompany her in public so that she can look only at him and ignore the horrified glances people give her a she passes through.
She doesn't know how to love anyone, on my obsession and having someone "claim," her so that she can ignore those looks and muttering.
That's the reason for those darting sideways glances in public, she's clocking those people staring at her like a circus sideshow freak (which she is).

You’re not in Canada. Your “research” of reading the immigration web site is meaningless.

Salah doesn’t have the funds required (we’re talking tens of thousands of dollars.) He’d have to show land deeds or mortgages in his name, not his father’s. A job. And even then, him being from Syria guarantees rejection. They’re not giving visitor visas to people like him. They just aren’t. The Syrian refugees who are here were referred by actual refugee camps.

He’s never getting into Canada. And an invitation letter from his dying, fat, white, middle-aged fake wife certainly isn’t going to be helpful. If anything, it would guarantee rejection even if he qualified in every other way.

Quit being an absolute walnut.
