Besides it puts us in a situation where blind luck and cowardice are our only defenses. If such a Hoxbox does exist lets have them come to us on OUR terms not theirs. Id truly like to see the species that can take a united humanity on its best day.

Dude, we are just barely at the point of being able to use oxidation of fuel to create enough thrust to escape our gravity. We’re still 100% stuck with this tech and making revisions to improve its efficiency.

We’ve conceived of things like magnetic assisted launches, space ladders, etc, but we’re not there yet.

You can’t use rocket fuel combustion to get anywhere near the speed of light. Until you can do something like get to a significant proportion of the speed of light, we can’t go anywhere measured in light years. We’d be wasting our time or calling down something far more advanced than us

Once more for everyone in the back:

China leased an Airbus A320 and made it disappear back in 2006. Presumably they took it apart for their vaunted reverse engineering.

This project is the Comac C919. It has been beset by constant drama and failure for twenty years. Nobody wants to buy any of them and their deliveries would be 0 except they legislatively forced domestic airlines to buy some, and at that they’ve made and delivered 28 total, again only to domestic airlines, since they completed the first one in 2024. So they have averaged 14 per year.

Boeing delivered 600 aircraft in 2025.

Also the c919 depends on engines and avionics sold to China from America. China basically can’t make aircraft engines of any kind. They’ve been buying them from Russia for their fighter programs
