An active shooter alert has been issued for a large area in and around Tumbler Ridge in B.C.'s northeast.

The alert was issued Tuesday at 2:15 p.m. PT by RCMP, and it covers Tumbler Ridge, Chetwynd, Dawson Creek and areas surrounding them.

Police say those in the Tumbler Ridge area should stay indoors and shelter in place, and not leave their homes.

The suspect in the case has been described as a woman in a dress with brown hair.

Anyone who sees the suspect has been asked not to approach them and to call 911.

Well maybe if they ban guns a fourth time it'll make the (bullied/unaccepted/not validated) mentally ill trannies better. There's surely nothing else more important that could be addressed

While I don’t doubt it’s a tranny, my gut tells me this lady’s speculating just like the rest of us. She also hasn’t changed her Facebook location yet; it’s still listed as Grand Prairie, Alberta.

A tragic mass shooting occurred on February 10, 2026, at Tumbler Ridge Secondary School in the small town of Tumbler Ridge, northeastern British Columbia, Canada.

According to the latest updates from the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) and multiple reliable news sources, 10 people are confirmed dead, including nine victims and the suspected shooter, who died from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.

The victims include six people found deceased inside the school, one who died en route to the hospital, and two others discovered at a connected residence.

More than 25 people were injured, with at least two suffering life-threatening wounds and others airlifted for treatment.

The incident began around 1:20 p.m. local time when reports of an active shooter prompted a Police Initiated Public Alert (since canceled). This marks one of the deadliest school-related shootings in Canadian history, shocking the small, remote community in the Peace River region.
