Both my senators blew off my urging for the SAVE act. It was expected because I live in one of the biggest Dem strongholds, but still
My junior senator did at least dignify me with a serious response totaling 5 paragraphs in length.
Genuine question. can ANYONE give me an example of their lived experience WITHIN THE LAST 20 YEARS of going to an elected representative with a problem and then having said problem addressed by POSITIVE action taken by said elected representative?
It increasingly feels like our "wins" are just incidental to their bigger picture and they truly dont really give a fuck about us.
the fact we count a written response as "dignifying the process" should make us all feel horrendous shame at where our COUNTRY is at.
It was the fucking graph of the Somali immigration since 2000 and it showed the Bush Admin brought in tens of thousands every year, made me realize how deep the issue went, they arent JUST evil they are also incompetent and that worrys me more in some ways.
Whats more comforting, being in the passenger seat of a car going 120 recklessly down a highway driven by someone intentionally acting foolish or someone who is blind?
So much just seems like the "Last days of Rome" its not even funny, we have a company thats made 8 billion in profit about to IPO for ONE AND A HALF
TRILLION USD

Silver is swinging 20 percent up and down on the day, I think people are starting to realize, in regards to our financial system, that the emperor is wearing no clothes
I was at the grocery store yesterday and I was blown the hell away by the sheer volume of people in this midsized supermarket in the middle of the day, the whole experience weirdly stood out to me, I can recall so much of it vividly. I think it was when I was standing in the check outline watching these overflowing baskets of the worst ultra processed, huge brand, sugar, fat and cholesterol filled GARBAGE as the "lady"(gorloc clone) with a screaming dervish leashed around her equator who was using her phone to pay for her slop when I realized just how high the "house of cards" is stacked
How many MIND BOGGLING human advancements needed to occur for this reprobate to complete that transaction?
If the ships stop showing up with the crops and the products, if even a PART of that hyper advanced web goes down how many calories less are we able to keep on the shelves of stores and for how long? People are used to such a high level of super energy inefficient food. If we have to ration for even a short time it would cause panic.
Dont rush to quick "understanding" of this, this is THE hyper pivotal point
Water and shelter dont "go away" the way food can, (water can but thats splitting hairs and a diff argument)
I know so many of you will say "we grow enough here", its so much more complex than that. We grow food FOR PROFIT in this nation then use the profit to purchase the food WE need to eat, you understand?
A farmer will use land that could grow 25 different kinds of vegetables to only grow almonds to sell to Laos then go and use that money to buy food for his family at the grocery store that was sourced from ALL OVER THE WORLD
You see the problem?
Not saying this is unfixable or "the end of everything" its just something to be very aware of. Learn basic soil chemistry NOW while information is still relatively plentiful. Learn how to grow enough food to sustain yourself and a small group, its NOT as simple as just plant the seeds water them and give them sunllight, you need to understand about soil composition, mineral requirements, water drainage, bugs, temperature, all manner of wild shit.
Id say try and get a few chickens to live with you but most local ordinances ban this to stop people from being self sufficient.
Also invest in a handful of pre ww2 hard back books about survival, astronomy, basics of oceanography (wind and tides) and a GOOD cooking book.
Sorry to sperg so hard on this post, long day and it feels good to vent a little
