The Reddit SEEEEETHING about the Pauline Hanson video is pretty funny.

So many comments like "80 years ago Italians weren't white! We used to have the White Australia Policy too" in between gasps of "We're the most successful multicultural country in the world" and then "This rhetoric will get worse as the wealth disparity grows".

Not a single person in any of those threads is able to figure this out: We had a great country because we gatekept and everything is getting severely worse the less white the country becomes.

Reddit skews left but they still can't wrap their head around more people working for cheap = bad for the native workers, bad for inflation, bad for housing, good for the elite class. Labor used to be the "racist" party because it opposed migration on the grounds it would worsen working conditions. Bob Brown (Greens) was saying a decade ago that migration was bad for the people and bad for the environment.

Also, Reddit is seriously astroturfed.
Ever since the Australian Day March and the polling for PHON hit the mainstream media, every single day there's been a "Pauline = bad" thread up and multiple comments in unrelated threads on how "Pauline = bad".
Good to see the establishment panicking, even if Pauline is rather useless.

While there is certainly astroturfing, the issue is more that reddit is just as much a leftoid echo chamber as as bluesky

The concentration and timing of posts indicates astroturfing.
They only other time Redditors mentioned PHON was usually after one of Pauline's stunts, now it's non stop.

I'm not saying it's all inorganic, but there are comments being made that make zero sense in context to thread subjects.
It's just "Orange Haired Woman = bad".

I don't have the threads saved, but so far I've seen the Perth Invasion Day "bomber" immediately linked to PHON even though there has been zero information about that person (sus!).
In many local subreddits, comments about "cookers" and "PHON voters" being responsible for NIMBYism, poor driving, criticism of the current government etc.
Someone saying "Chris Minns is a cunt" is enough to get them labelled a PHON supporter and downdooted to oblivion.
Even in the CANBERRA subreddit which is total lunacy - no one in that dystopian shithole would vote PHON.

So why the need to mention how bad and "Trump-like" Pauline is at every opportunity?
 
It seems Dan Andrews had a stroke last year (neurological incident that impaired his speech and movement). He's apparently still in hospital after being admitted last year so fairly serious. As much as Labour shits me, I didn't mind Dan and his youngest is my son's age, so I feel sympathy for the family.

My pop was called Milo from childhood to deathbed because he'd go in the town pub with his dad every arvo and they'd give him a cup of milk and Milo.

The Pauline hate is absolutely astroturfed because the people who hate her today werent even born when she was at her most notorious and the people who should hate her (Asians) absolutely fucking love her.
