Call this coping if you want but I always did find some of the details to be inconsistent or suspicious (mainly the inconsistency around whether or not she knew who Tom was or when she figured it out), I just wanted them to divulge everything they had so I didn't question them too hard on the little stuff. I can't speak for everyone here, though.
