The debate is over the good communists gun. Pretti was carrying a SiG320 which has a reputation for uncommanded discharges. Theory is it went right after the agent grabbed it and caused the other 2 to fire in self defense.

Most legal Hispanics are descended from Mexican castizos who lived in Texas and New Mexico before the war, Cubans who either came over or are kids of Cubans who fled communism, and Puerto Ricans who are US citizens since the war with Spain.

Most Illegal immigrants are central Americans, Mexican Mestizos or just straight up Indegenas. I.e, subhuman. Latinx folx can be very racist, and dont view themselves as one big box like white Yankee liberals do.
