there hasn't really been something that's even attempted to be harry potter again i'm aware of, even the wizard school-likes never follow "a group of students that age gradually" much less "with the reader and plot"

harry potter was a huge success in part or largely because a child can read book one, it was safe for a younger audience, and didn't whip out any glocks or go into the philosophy of loss besides "mommy not here". then book 2 and it started getting a bit tuffer but fantasy, and then by book 4 you started having glocks whipped out, emotional drama etc.

as a kid on a hype train with the conventual releases, the hype train never really went down from it, it wasn't outgrew, unless you started it later but that didn't really matter to people anyway because it worked with the plot.

nearly every/every "we have better now" is hp ripoff transbian fanfiction tier shit, but they do nothing hp even did to be successful. personally i *wish* there was more shit that ripped it off, i'd love more generational fiction, romances through the ages, drama, personality changes etc. there's even ways to rip off harry potter and do it better, especially if you weren't a dick and actually credited jk. i mean it was originally a story for her kids at the worst point of her life that she grew with them, obviously planners SHOULD be able to fucking do better or equally, even without equal success. but it's generic art and instead of natural character diversity, it's token bullshit, who's character arcs are "wizard while black/lesbian", maybe "nah nigguh i ain't had good parenting". game of thrones is clearly brutal af from book one but the aging and character changes from that alone mogs most attempts at harry potter, because by design of the story, rule fucking 1 before magic is "a story that grows with the reader". like for her kids, you might not have toys etcs, so you make something they look forward to, they get older you start including boy drama etc. most all rip offs are stuck in book 1 while being book 4-5 horny.

It was certainly more violent, different and direct in the movie.

In the movie Harry sees that when he touches Quirrel he fucking disintegrates so he touches him some more until he falls apart right in front of him.

In the book, though I do not remember completely since its been decades, Harry scuffles with Quirrel on the ground while both are in extreme pain.
Harry's touch 'burns' Quirrel and Harry's scar almost explodes with pain due to being so close to Voldemort.
The scuffle ends with Harry passing out on top of Quirrel, causing him to keep burnimg him.

I think it is implied that Voldemort leaving Quirrel's body was the actual cause if death while Harry just gave him 7th degree magicsl burns or something.

Another “Rowling is mentioned in the Epstein Files” post, only it’s even more superficial because it's actually in reference to him securing tickets to a Harry Potter themed dinner party after seeing The Cursed Child. OP admits that JKR isn't mentioned once as a client of Epstein's, yet still finds that her and/or Harry Potter being mentioned at all sus enough for him to say that she needs to do better :stress:

I'm concerned that the next mass shooter might have one or two Harry Potter books at home or a subscription to a streaming service that includes the Harry Potter movies, which means JKR will be somehow responsible for the murder because she didn't stop the killer from consuming her IP.

Yeah.

It’s like Hitler must have written a letter mentioning Churchill and Roosevelt at some point, so by the logic of these Troons both were clearly instrumental in the Holocaust.

If they want to live by this logic then I am sure plenty of them have corresponded with characters and individuals as sleazy and child rapy as Epstein.
