That's cuz they treat social causes like the latest fashion statement.

This is probably what gets me the most. I don't have a problem if people have a legitimate belief that they hold true to themselves, I (and most Americans, recent events in mind) have a problem with rich millenial fuckwads

That's actually another problem with this. Every job done for pennies an hour by these guys is one less job for a construction worker who didn't commit some crime and who would have to be paid a legal wage.
Well, isn't there something to be said for trying to get prisoners involved in something constructive? Yes they're in prison for doing something bad but I don't think it's the best idea to make them stew in silent uselessness for the entirety of their term and then kick them out with nothing to their name and ask "now don't you do that again". Criminals re-offend because they don't have any better ideas.

It's the parents fault for coming in illegally and having children in the country while not being citizens, and because of that they ruined not only their lives but their kids lives too and hope are the people covering the baseball have bigots?
Well, to be fair an argument could be made that the child was born and raised here and maybe shouldn't be ripped away from the only life they've known just because their parents fucked up.

Unfortunately, this is the hard reality. Recidivism rates are very high in the US because our prison system is focused on punishment--and profit--rather than rehabilitation. As nice as being able to turn some of these people who have fucked up into productive members of society would be, no politician wants to appear soft on crime, and there's enough money being thrown around to make sure it stays that way.

That doesn't mean they shouldn't minimize the unintended but real impact on innocent workers, who are also essentially being punished for nothing by having jobs cut out of the economy and done by what is little more than slave labor, thus not only removing jobs from the economy, but also depressing wages for those who still do have jobs.

I think work-release where they actually work in the legitimate economy is fine, or focusing on education. At the very least, prisoners who have jobs they can somehow keep should be encouraged to do that if they're not a menace in general.

Much like shipping jobs overseas under lousy trade deals like NAFTA and the TPP, anything that creates ways for employers to get practically free employees is a bad thing for workers in general.

@HuffPo i'm pretty sure the fire was caused by someones stove or fridge not imaginary building racism

From what I understand, there had been previous complaints about safety conditions at the building. NOT that that means it was caused by racism, but there was definitely some negligence here. And sadly, most of the people affected by that kind of thing are usually the poor. Here in Pittsburgh, there was a fire last year in one of the poorer areas and several people were trapped because there were cages on the windows. It had been pointed out that this could've been a safety hazard, but the landlord justified it by the problems in the area with drug dealers or whatever. (They were worried about break-ins, or gun fire, IIRC) And in the end, several children died because they couldn't get out.

TL;DR: while the idea of the article that the fire was caused by racism is stupid, there were concerns about the building being up to code, and the owners were negligent about it, most likely because it would've cost them money.

There's often a kernel of truth buried inside the pile of BS that rags like HuffPo publish. It also shows the racist attitude that conflates poor with black, which in this case, conveniently draws attention away from the real problem, the haves fucking over the have-nots for the nth time. Same thing with prison reform; keeps the powerful in charge and turns the powerless against one another.

How many honest-to-god nazis have actually gotten punched yet?

The heroes of the revolution talk a big game, but why aren't they showing us their numbers?
