It's very possible that the damage to Commentary Community and those running cover for him will be much more destructive and impactful long term than what occurs to Tom himself.

agree, most youtubers could probably get away with not getting cancelled if they just keep their head down long enough for people to lose interest. The culture moves on fast. You would need lots of videos from bigger channels to get peoples attention and who is bigger than Tom in this space? He is friends with much of his would be opposition. Tom is a talking head, people don't really watch his content for him anyway if people want to watch a video about a Kiwifarms thread his editors read, and he's the only / best produced option, they probably will.
Tom certainly loses peoples respect, but really he just needs to avoid been holier than thou in his bland commentary. Maybe make his videos completely impersonal without his personal takes or showing his not particularly gifted face on camera, I think he gets by this without a massive loss in views.
I personally do think Tom fucks this up and makes a bad response video though, in true lolcow fashion.

Related to my speculation upthread: I think Tom will come out with a short and halfhearted "I could have been better, I am listening and learning" type response re: the accusers and then launch into 45 minutes of expose on his troon stalker who did his head in so bad that he became someone he didn't even recognize and did some bad things he regrets.
 
Just the fact that he has mentally juxtapose his own updated KF thread title with any future lolcow he wants to pilfer content for from KF is probably the biggest hit he takes career wise.
