There's a real sense of joylessness in Clav's life and in his circle that is profoundly not normal. I don't agree that it's because partying and casual sex are essentially superficial. They are, but plenty of people in their college years enjoy good times with no regrets and then grow up into actual adulthood.

When most normal young men get into shape, start socialising more, and start meeting pretty girls, it gives them a kind of easy confidence. Having money doesn't hurt, but it's not even necessary. It's just that feeling that you and your mates can go out on a Saturday night, get a little drunk or high, and strike out in any direction and find a good time. It's that feeling of a hot girl stealing glances at you and giggling with her friends, and knowing you'll go over and shoot your shot and even if you don't hook up you can feel the sexual tension between you. It's knowing the bouncers are going to let you through to the club no questions asked, or that you can get an invite to a crazy after party just by shooting the shit with some strangers.

Clav doesn't have that. It's like the more he has the outward appearance of success, it just highlights the deficiency in his brain. There's something obviously wrong with Clav and even drunk club thots can sense it.

Every day before he goes out, he's got some kind of hard goal in his head to impress the boardmembers and gets visibly disappointed if he doesn't achieve it. It's like he turned pleasure into business and business is giving him stress and a headache. He's not enjoying work as much as he used to, but he doesn't know how to do anything else.

Normal people work a job or go to school at this point in life, then blow off stress at the club and at parties. Braden just has parties. There's no goals, only quotas he's achieving and he's mad he can't be perfect all the time because he loses his job if he isn't. It's fear of failure.

I also think his fear of failure leads him to get mogged by general college boys in general - the dude who was mogging his ass wasn't afraid of him. He was laughing. Braden showed fear by trying to fight and micromanage him. Braden seems very controlling in general - this isn't a trait of the effortlessly confident persona he wants to achieve. Failure is something most confident people take in stride and learn a lesson from. Braden seems like he obsesses over it until he completely buries it. Had moggman not been a man, he would have gotten the same treatment the woman he flashed and harrassed got.

I'll be honest, when I was younger, lurking on the Farms, I thought we were all somewhat reasonable people. Now that I'm older (happy birthday to me ) I realize that a good portion of this website are gross little gremlins who are blinded by indiscriminate hatred and don't contribute anything real to threads besides "Man, isn't this cow weird? haha". Which would be fine if you guys were funny but sometimes you're not. IMO, it gets even worse when you guys unironically suck the dick of certain cows.

That being said, there is nothing you should envy from Clav even if he's "handsome" or having sex with attractive women because it is not a sustainable lifestyle and it will end in pathetic tragedy. Which would you rather have? A good long life of being a normal person? Or being laughed at by the entire world, wasting your money and fucking faceless people until you're broke? Either way, you end up as forgotten except for your close friends and family.
