A federal agent shot and killed a Minneapolis motorist when she allegedly tried to run over law enforcement officers during an immigration crackdown in the city, authorities said Wednesday.

The Immigration and Customs Enforcement officer shot the woman in her vehicle in a residential neighborhood in Minneapolis, Department of Homeland Security spokeswoman Tricia McLaughlin said in a statement.

Video posted online showed the vehicle crashed in a residential neighborhood. The shooting drew throngs of angry protesters to the scene in an area that is the latest target of the Trump administration's immigration crackdown.

Follow live coverage of the shooting from MPR News in Minneapolis.

There was a large presence of federal and local officers, yellow police tape and cars that had been in a crash in the residential neighborhood. Gregory Bovino, a senior U.S. Customs and Border Patrol official who has been the face of crackdowns in Los Angeles, Chicago and elsewhere, was among the group.

“We are aware of a shooting involving federal law enforcement near East 34th Street and Portland Avenue. Please avoid this area,” the city government said on X.

In a scene similar to the Los Angeles and Chicago crackdowns, bystanders didn't hold back in venting their anger, blowing whistles, taunting the federal agents.

“Shame! Shame! Shame!” and “ICE out of Minnesota!” they loudly chanted from behind the police tape, referring to Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

After the shooting, Mayor Jacob Frey said immigration agents were “causing chaos in our city.”

“We are demanding ICE leave the city and state immediately. We stand rock solid with our immigrant and refugee communities," Frey said on social media.

The area where the shooting occurred is a modest neighborhood south of downtown Minneapolis, just a few blocks from some of the oldest immigrant markets in the area and a mile from where George Floyd was killed by police in 2020.

“We’ve been trying to live life as fully as possible in light of the fear and anxiety that we feel,” said the Rev. Hierald Osorto, pastor at St. Paul’s-San Pablo Lutheran Church, which has a predominantly Latino congregation in the area.

The Immigration Defense Network, a coalition of groups serving immigrants in Minnesota, held a training session Tuesday night for about 100 people who are willing to hit the streets to monitor the federal enforcement.

“I feel like I'm an ordinary person, and I have the ability do something so I need to do it,” Mary Moran told KMSP-TV.

The Department of Homeland Security said Tuesday that it had launched an extraordinary immigration enforcement operation, with 2,000 agents and officers expected in the Minneapolis and St. Paul area for a crackdown tied in part to allegations of fraud involving Somali residents.

I'm curious how many people think she intended to hit him vs she was being reckless but was not trying to hit him, especially now with this new footage. It's irrelevant to me ultimately but my thoughts was that she was trying to gtfo and wasn't aiming for him. Now I'm not sure. I guess you can like my post for if you think she wanted to hit him and dislike if you think she was just trying to run.
It think at the most generous possible, she wasn't attempting to hit him, but didn't care if she did, and was more than willing to.

Props to the ICE agent hitting that 360 no scope. And yes, I voted for this.

ICE shouldn't have been there in the first place. They should've let her go. She probably felt threatened and wasn't it you MAGAloids who said running people over when you feel threatened was okay?

But anyway, it doesn't matter. ICE could do anything and you'd cheer it on. Hell, you even have said that Trump could admit to the Epstein shit and you'd continue to devote your life to worshipping him.
So you approve of killing ICE to keep your slaves and pets in the country. Nice to know you support murder to support your goals.

The "wife," in shrieking "Drive, drive!" has arguably opened herself up to felony murder charges ... both state and Federal, so she can't count on the indulgence of Minnesota's executive retards.

At a minimum they should be able to charge her with incitement to commit a felony, hopefully they will go harder and charge her with accomplice to the attempted murder of federal law enforcement.

I read an interesting argument yesterday: this is a political movement largely fueled by AWFLs. These are women who are quite accustomed to getting their way by browbeating retail managers and other functionaries who have to kiss the customer's ass to keep their job. Sadly, the armed ICE agent telling you to get out of the fucking car is not a Home Goods clerk.

Hmm, guess it is extra good that the six year old is going with his grandfather instead of being left with his stepmom who might be headed for prison.

Do you think Grandpa can take the dog too, if it survived?

running people over when you feel threatened
this depends if you are a fucking RETARD or not.

This is also why the "I FEEL" bullshit is fucking retarded, because I'm sure trannies would run down half the population because they "FEEL THREATENED" too if they could. No, its about if you have an angry mob blocking your road and acting aggressive. The ice people were nice and cordial til she attacked and got shot in the face.

That is extremely generous, and it's still what some statutes described as "depraved indifference."

Its going to be like Rittenhouse all over again, people saying they know what happened and dont need to watch the footage.
There's no situation where an ICE agent kills someone and the left comes out and says "clearly self defense"

These are the same people that say "the cop that shot that machete wielding black man that was running right for him is clearly in the wrong!"

It's funny when you say I want my "slaves and pets" here, but then you want ICE to be throwing them into camps and prisons in El Salvador without trial. Again, I would expect as much from a guy so retarded that he claims trickle down economics works and wants his money going to billionaires and then whines he's poor

I thought the same, and I guess I'm still leaning towards that she was trying to drive away, even after seeing the new video. I think she was looking so gleeful because she was fully expecting to speed away with her wife and dog in the car, while ICE had to watch and seethe helplessly. Unfortunately, she wasn't as fast as she expected and probably misjudged the turn she had to make.

She literally looks the agent in the face the second before she accelerates.

That’s only for people with felonies, not basic workers crossing the border. You don’t go to El Salvador unless you either have organized crime connections or rape/VC charges.

Most of the time, they just get a bus ride or plane ride back. Which, arguably, is a thousand times better than 99% of countries across the world.

Honestly, we should just make them citizens after Buck Breaking, but you can’t win them all.
