Funny thing about that, he was in TCW...but still as a member of the Jedi Order because the wolf fucker didn't give a shit about continuity. Again.

Instead of making up another Weequay character, he wanted to use one who was working for Dooku at the time. Because of course he did.

Didn't know that. A new reason to continue to dislike Filoni.

Genndy is overrated and the Genndy war episodes shorts are too short and ADD to tell more than the hint of a actual story.
Can you really blame the length of the episodes on Gennedy and not Lucasarts or CN? The first season was a microseries, the second was proper episodic length and had more conventional story structure.

Filoni also lacks any sense of mystery in his writing, and spells out and over explains everything, as is the custom with modern nerd writers.
Given the average intelligence level of the average inattentive barely literate normie; writers have to spell out and over explain everything to them. And the normies will still be utterly clueless as to what is happening in the story. As this have been an issue since the 1960s.

Why are there lightsaber duels in the film?
Thank the normie audience and corpos* for the mandatory "there must be lightsabers and lightsaber dual and or fights with them" millstone permanently hanging off the franchise neck.

*Ranging from the same fuckers who literally cannot differentiate Star Wars and Star Trek if signature items, like lightsabers and phasers aren't on screen for a unspecified amount of screen time. To the fucks who do know better but want them anyway because it's not Star Wars to them if they're not included.

I am not afraid to say it.
Genndy is overrated and the Genndy war episodes shorts are too short and ADD to tell more than the hint of a actual story. Genndy also has serious issues with scale especially given his 'no lines' art style.

None of this changes that his project is still the superior Clone Wars television series.
It's a lot better when you watch all the episodes together as a movie.

They're good. Guaranteed classics. It's just you think it'd be phenomenal and a must watch from the sheer hatred people have for Filoni Wars then mentioning it as the vastly superior show. Reality is it's just neat. Good but nothing groundbreaking.
You have to factor in that it was released right on the heels of AotC too. It was the first time that a lot of people got to see some genuine heroism from Anakin (given TPM Anakin and AotC Anakin are so far apart they might as well be different people). The Gennedy show also did a better job of capturing the feel of the OT than TPM and AotC; the humor lands a lot more and is also a lot more balanced, and the villains are presented as proper antagonists instead of being almost incidental, and the romance between Padme and Anakin feels natural. It's not groundbreaking in retrospective but given it was giving people a lot of what they wanted out of the prequels while building on it there is a very good reason that people were praising it as the best part of the prequels for years before Filoni Wars came out.

They're integral to the jedi and the Skywalker Saga. But given how rare jedi are in the setting I doubt they're integral to it.
Rare? What the fuck do you mean? Another 5 dozen survivors of the "supposed" Order 66 just turned up in the latest Star Wars comic.

So is Cruise a stuntman here or an extra or a new character altogether?
Niether; the quote is written really shittily so it takes some parsing (and I think was deliberately mangled to give the appearance that Tom Cruise is attached in some way. TOP GUN BUT SPACE!)

Tom Cruise was invited to visit the set, visited, and while there was offered the opportunity to film - that is, be the guy holding the camera - for one of the lightsaber battles. He was a cameraman, and the director was praising Cruise's ability to get in there with the camera. This is not uncommon, Cruise has directed before and most directors know how to work a camera and frame a shot.

Tom Cruise is absolutely insane, but he is also probably the greatest person in Hollywood. He can write, act, direct, produce.
