True. But a good engineer makes it happen, even if he's just working with scraps. And a company that actively interferes with that kind of effort is begging for operational trouble at the worst possible moment. Fate loves that shit.

I think it’s because it’s hard to justify the expense of maintaining a staging system when you spend hours debugging on it only for the production system to require even more debugging anyway.

There is a sort of law where no matter how much you design or plan for something, there will be an infinite amount of time debugging after deployment.

Definitely some truth to this. While the public still forgets shit quickly and easily enough the mainstream/legacy media no longer has total control of the narrative at all times.

20 years ago if this happened Tim Walz could have exited stage left. Then quietly go about his wealthy life as a private citizen after a career of grifting like all politicians do. After a few years when everything dies down just come back in public as the "Man who stood up against trump and for immigrants and their families."

Not sure if that will happen today though. Illinois has no shortage of Governors who ended up in prison.

Idk man. I grew up on a hill top in New England, so the sky was big enough that you could see the basic substance of the physical universe is trees. Everything in every direction is more hills covered in more trees, to the vanishing point of the horizon on all sides.

The first time I changed planes in Cincinnati, I wanted to nuke it. How dare anything be that flat and featureless? What kind of degenerate gets to -that- and unhitches their wagon?

I work in data infrastructure. Most of the time its simply impossible. No matter how good of an engineer you are you aren't going to be duplicating infrastructure and data throughput that costs $500k+ a month just to turn on.

All of the real and truly critical problems you have to solve require 100TB+ of data throughput a day to even identify the performance problems. On top of that they are supported by a byzantine ratnest of decades of development. It just is what it is.

That's my slice of the tech pie though. Test environments are much easier for apps.

Instead of trying to figure out the tricky thing of making a big stompy robot we just stick the nukes on the tried and true platform of BOAT.

I think the idea with the Trump class is that it's supposed to work in tandem with the Golden Dome interceptors so that it can nuke the shit out of the Chinese navy with impunity with its' prompt strike missiles.
