It's been a while since I've watched any TFU clips, I forgot how norwooded Starkiller is.
TFU was fun, I remember being disappointed by the short length of the second game and still sad we never got a third one.
It's kinda funny that it almost shares it's name with The Force Awakens. Speaking of which, it's been 10 years since that movie came out. Feel Old?

I feel like the seeds Rian Johnson planted for Episode 9 were less about specific plot points and more about where Star Wars should go philosophically after decades of repeating itself.
Ruin had nothing in mind other than shitting on JJ and trying to force his art-house wank on the wider world.

There is a difference between subverting and redirecting themes and just smashing them before you think they are dumb. Ol' Roundhead knew JJ was a mystery box hack and when given a collection of mystery boxes from JJ, Ruin smashed each and every one open to show that JJ was a worthless hack and there was nothing to salvage from his lazy Ep 4 retread.
While also showing he can't direct for shit.

"Its about moving away from heroes and blood lines" - Why does Leia Space Jesus herself back to safety (and is the only one to do so)?
"The force belongs to everyone" - Why doesn't anyone other than the chosen ones do anything with the force except for a gay 5 second scene with an orphan?
"meant to be about the galaxy choosing to rise up rather than being saved" - why did no one in the galaxy rise up?

The movie is garbage and only fart-huffers and disney shills pretend it is anything but.
Ok,technically also people who care more about JJ getting humiliated publicly than they care about star wars, but they are in the fart huffing crowd.

The reason why you like the political intrigue is because it's far more compelling than "and then one day, for no reason at all, people voted Palpatine into power"
Somehow, Palpatine returned.

We've already had a better attempt by a writer who doesn't like Star Wars, but wasn't going to shit on all of it because of it, and instead tried to do something interesting with it

He also isn't subversive. Subversion would've been to kill both Rey and Kylo in Palpatine -2.0's palace as a surprise fuck you; then it turns out the last Jedi was Finn all along, and he has to build from the scraps as several of the crazier Knights and Hux' subordinates forge a variety of dangerous warlords to seek FINAL VICTORY. Subversion would've been to have them both fall to the dark side after killing PalpyClone, again setting it up. Hell, if the film ended with both sides being fucking dead and then someone minor from either movie gets the nod to build shit back together? That's subversion.

The film is effectively a beat for beat take of Empire, with any chances of subversion like actually making Luke not suck and not be Yoda 2.0 being thrown out in favor of being a corporate lapdog. Not shitting you.

Opening scene? Hoth 2.0 but makes Leia look like she's retarded due to a lack of planet shielding; ignore she was at fucking Hoth, was part of the leadership that built those to protect the base, and likely had more resources due to at least having more leeway in the New Republic. The flight away? A shitty copy of hiding in the asteroid. The casino planet? Cloud City. The betrayal? Lando but with the slight twist that he's a cunt. The irish island of shit? Dagobah. It is pump for pump the same fucking movie; including having Rey refuse Kylo like Luke rejects Vader. It even ends on a downpoint, just amplified due to retardation causing most of the Rebel -2.0 lot to die.

There isn't anything there but the retarded fanfics that modern audiences invent and hallucinate like AI does to cope with it all being shit. He isn't artistic; he has ties to journoscum who lie that he is since he actively fucks one as his wife and has good press. Like that fucking fraud Warhol.

Subversion and refutation requires reconstruction or synthesis in a film. It's one thing to shred the mystery boxes; it'd have been another to then build something new out of it. Ruin never did that. He had chances to with this one; he could for example have kept to Luke's character and did not do the modern take of writing cliched "I'm old sad and have a cock. Let me die so I can be replaced with something that loses money". That's currently establishment; not subversive.

He bowed down to Kathy, He followed the script given to him, and kept the materials enough that they could still do something like Episode VI. Why do you think none of the protagonists died?

The only thing it really highlighted was that JarJar was so fucking retarded and uncreative as a writer that he had to Somehow Palpatine returned since he wasn't smart enough to come up with Kylo Ren being the villain and the redeemed one.
"Its about moving away from heroes and blood lines" - Why does Leia Space Jesus herself back to safety (and is the only one to do so)?
She also is shoehorned in along with Luke to train Rey, meaning bloodline mattered anyway.

Again, it'd makes sense to do this with fucking Finn. I don't agree with the take and phrasing, but there's a reason I use a fucking Ratatouille quote as my rule for force sensitivity. "Not everyone can develop the sensitivity to become a great force adept, but that a great force adept can come fron anywhere." Sorry RatCo; it's shown to be heritable, if not absolute. Not everyone has the sensitivity to be able to use force powers, but it resides in us all; most just lack the ability to listen to it.

It'd have been smarter to just have it be some guy who has to take up a torch and forge identity. There's a reason so many people try to justify the minstrel show RatCo made of Boyega as the stronger narrative heart... well that and Daisy Ridley can't fuckin' act except as a corpse.
"The force belongs to everyone" - Why doesn't anyone other than the chosen ones do anything with the force except for a gay 5 second scene with an orphan?
Yep. A more subversive idea though it'd be a terrible one would've been to say have Rose Tico use the force to save Finn, dying due to finding redemption before she fell to the dark side you could hint she was falling into through the film.
"meant to be about the galaxy choosing to rise up rather than being saved" - why did no one in the galaxy rise up?
This and Leia's strategems in Fanfics VII and VIII were horrible. Seriously; the First Order loses its leader and most of its forces and officers. You'd think you'd announce the victory like how they FUCKING ANNOUNCED THE DESTRUCTION OF DS-1 AT YAVIN. And this ignores other things that ruin her character.

TBH I think she gets a worse treatment in Ruin's writing than Luke. Holy shit.
The movie is garbage and only fart-huffers and disney shills pretend it is anything but.
Ok,technically also people who care more about JJ getting humiliated publicly than they care about star wars, but they are in the fart huffing crowd.
It is more of a movie than Plan IX was, and that's all I can say. I can also understand Ruin doing what he did because he knew JarJar would take credit if he made a good movie. It's the same logic I get for Freddy Got Fingered.

Doesn't mean it's a good movie and doesn't mean I can't tell him to fuck off.
Somehow, Palpatine returned.
He flies now.

I created Star Wars.
lol you sold it to white slavers

They somehow managed to make Dark Empire of all things, worse, without any of Dark Empire's edge and vibe, so that checks out.
It was so funny how Disney shills spent 6 years trash talking the EU because of Palpatine returning, then suddenly, somehow Palpatine has returned
