She’s a fucking idiot to think it’s easy not to have a car in Florida. Like literally anywhere else in America, it might work if you live in the center of a large city (Tampa, Jax, Miami, maybe Orlando but I haven’t been there in forever). On Christmas Eve, however, she was having a hard night. Felt the need to defend her playing of Hogwarts Legacy despite disliking what a terf JK Rowling is after it was "called into question."

It's not just that she can separate the art from the artist, or that Harry Potter is dear to her because it came at a time she needed it most despite being almost 30 at the time. She is far more complex than that. There are concepts of creativity and the duality of genius that people such as the Greeks came up with. Further, muses will plant inspiration in someone's head far more often than people will come up with ideas by themselves. She believes that the former was the case with JKR and Harry Potter.

Additionally, the series is too popular nowadays. It is no longer just JKR's story, but the publishers's and the fans's. Harry Potter in particular made her more open minded. Hogwarts itself reminded her of how varied and open minded her hometown of Birmingham, Alabama is. Therefore, if someone with such horrible thoughts came up with something so good and open minded, why should she be given flack for enjoying said creation? If she can divorce the art from the artist, so can you.

Side note that no one on TikTok gave her shit for playing it. In fact, the only comment about it on the video where she's saying she's playing it told her that they just started playing it themselves

Unfortunately, Christmas Day was not much better.

She already wasn't feeling holiday cheer this year from everything going on. She had meltdowns on the way to and at the family party that she was forced to go to. Since many members were attending, Grandma decided to host it at her church versus at her home in order to accommodate as many as possible. All those people there (including many under 5 or newly married in), knowing she will be made fun of for anything and everything, and returning to the site of so much trauma was too much for her. Coped with being forced to attend by helping her aunts decorate the fellowship hall and creating a mental checklist for things to do at the party, from bringing gifts and supplies to blessing and eating the meal.

It became too much for her again towards the end, when everyone opened presents. With so many attending, the family drew names out of a hat so that no one was obligated to buy gifts for everyone. Most of the adults received 2-3 gifts. Soon after unwrapping them, most people began preparing to go home versus showing off what they got to everyone. How could they show so little care and appreciation for what they received?

As much as she loves them, she is done with dealing with her horrible family. 2026 will be the year she has a mental health break and stays away from them entirely. She barely survived 2025 as it is. Another year of this? Out of the question. She chooses herself. If she does celebrate Christmas with family next year, then it will be only with her mom and grandmother. Tyler can come, too, provided he invites himself. Hopes that everyone had a better Christmas than her. She knew it was going to be bad, but that was ridiculous.

She then sobs her ass off in front of the church before going in. I bet her family ignored that while pulling things out of her car. They had actual shit to do instead of letting Polissa be the center of attention.

"If I show emotion, I'm just being Polissa and overemotional." So her family wasn't stopping everything to dry her tears and listen to all her complaints. They were telling each other she's "just being Polissa" and then the continued decorating, heating food and organizing the party.

She's mad she only got "two or three presents" (must be 3) and she didn't get group attention while she opened it. The kids were "flying through their presents at breakneck speed" meaning getting all the attention. Polissa wasn't special that day.

Maybe Mom and Grandma don't want to have an entire separate Christmas just for Polissa? Grandma is going to set up another huge family Christmas for the entire extended family, but Polissa needs them to throw a special party just for her.

She didn't mention doing a Christmas celebration or dinner with her husband. He can go fuck himself.

The best part of the video is how hard she's trying to hide her resentment towards all those new babies and toddlers, but bits are leaking out. Those little Christmas attention-magnets ruined everything!

Polissa claimed to be a sunday school teacher at one point, so clearly has positive memories of being in a church community. If I recall correctly, the only crime she's accused the church of is forcing her to marry Joh, whom she appears to be with still, and at the very least she had a lengthy marriage that was happy, interspersed with the occassional redneck shenanigans (car "wreaks," minor domestics). Thinking on this more, I think it could’ve been that failed truck repair Robin dropped a grand on right before Christmas. Polissa was likely told that was her gift in lieu of more junk to go into her hoard, considering the investment involved.

Also occurred to me that Granny Bets is in her 80s. That could partly explain why she chose to host such a massive family reunion at church this Christmas. She wants to see all the babies and family members as much as possible while she can. Not that Polissa would think this, between everything everyone already mentioned.

Catching up, Polissa had a much more fun New Year's Eve.




The next day was harder emotionally. Too much trauma (both lifelong and post-2020) resurfaced, which made her New Year's Day suck.

The closest thing that she has to a resolution for 2026 is to quit the filters she's been addicted to for the past ten years. After all, she's no longer young and pretty enough to ever make it as an influencer. It's not like those filters will help even her odds. She also cannot distinguish if photos of her are with or without filter anymore because she uses them that extensively. Further, she wants people to see what a disabled, menopausal 42 year old woman really looks like, and to warn the younger women about how shit menopause is because she wasn't warned about any of it prior to her hysterectomy. Since she hates being comfortable in a lie, she will be more real in 2026. No filters, no lies, nothing. Hope more people enjoy and follow her real content, because she's ready for it.
