Id put her on par with mother nature as far as raw "potential energy" but that dosent mean she is a cure all

I think we're focused on the wrong thing. It matters less if it's sentient (it's not, and I don't think ever will be). However, it's a powerful tool or can be. That's what gets missed in these debates too often, the capacity despite whether its sentient or not.

What results have you been getting? Liking it? I've deployed on some pretty high end hardware and been selective about models. Still not flagship quality but that's not a big problem for my use cases.

I'm in the Midwest and meat, even chicken has risen slightly over the past 4-5 months. I couldn't say much about veggies since I really only grab bags of pre-done salad and the occasional peppers and onions. I do know Avocados have been holding at a fairly expensive price. My grocery bill has roughly stayed the same with the decrease of eggs (I eat a fuck ton of eggs) to even it out.

I was directly responding to a guy who spoke about an AI as if it was a conscious entity with self awareness and willpower which LLMs are 100% not. Nothing to comment about AI usefulness or anything just responding to a guy being schitzo.

I started a thread in mass debates to avoid derailing this one(even if it is the fucking US Politics thread which is derailed 24/7/365)

RE: Christmas gifts, I got one of my siblings a cutting board made from solid wood, my mom a pair of bison wool mittens, my dad a pair of bison leather gloves. All made in the USA from US sourced materials.

About half of what I got was MIUSA stuff since I usually just tell people "get stuff from this list of businesses" instead of an exact list and those are all small businesses in the US. I got some beeswax candles, some hand thrown mugs, and some Wisconsin cheese.

I've made a concerted effort to focus on more good from the US and have been surprised at how easy it is. My dad recently told me his favorite gifts he's ever gotten from me have all been from the past few years (coincidentally when I started focusing on this). They all end up being higher quality, they last longer, and evidently people take notice at the difference.
