Chantal mentioned her intention to rent a car "for the holidays" as far back as November. I think she paid for the rental car well before she got demonetized through a website like booking.com, like she has in the past for flights and hotels.

That's why she never really freaked out about not being able to afford the rental car. It was already paid for. She knew well in advance that she had to make an appearance down in Cornwall if she was ever going to get her hands on any of Rich Ol' Grandpa Sarault's money. Hopefully a few hours of awkward giggling, sweating and pretending to listen to his old stories on Christmas Eve finally earned her a special place in his will heart.

I also think Chantal probably intended to get BG-13 spayed after Christmas with a charity/low-cost service down in the Cornwall/Glengarry area while she still had a rental car. But now that money is tight, she's scrambling for a cheaper and faster option. If she can't figure out something in the next week or so, that cat won't get fixed for ages, just like Julia.

She put on 5 lbs of black hair fibers on her first twitch stream, even pointing out that it was smeared on the wall behind her. Then at the buffet she's wearing that tight beige hat over the hair fibers. She must have sweated black sludge all over the inside of it.

If she even mused about moving in with Grandpa to take care of him, that's proof she's starting to understand she won't be able to afford her own living expenses much longer. Not the luxury apartment, but any apartment at all. Someone she trusts must have pointed out she'll be unable to earn enough on Twitch to get approved for even a studio apartment.

"My Grandpa/Aunt/Mom is old. She needs me to take care of her!" is the top excuse for chronically unemployed cluster B's who've reached middle age. They get to live for free with the older adult who owns a house or has subsidized housing. Then the "care" excuse lets them stay unemployed forever because they're just too gosh darn busy taking care of that poor old lady.

Usually the older person is perfectly capable of taking care of themselves, and sometimes they're even working full time jobs. The worthless NEET doesn't want to do any actually homecare for the elderly. I knew one "taking care of Mom" asshole whose mother we later found out was a 6 figure salary executive at the time.

I think her family will definitely step in. You can't tell me Shmee hasn't forgotten all the ways in which Cutie leeched off of Grandma, was a nuisance and a drain at the end, and left her memorial service early to run after Nader. The entire creamy Kuwaiti muslima arc was bad enough, but between racing back to Kuwait during the Kaibella incident, and then running off to Syria? Kim and Phyllis aren't going to trust her with a goddamned thing, especially not caring for their elderly father.
 
She's live again on Twitch, been going for about 40 minutes and has 200 watching. She's sealing and incredibly boring. Her chat is even slower than usual.

I think it's officially her 5th live today? Maybe she has to stop and restart them every now and then?

Her prior lives were two streams lazily titled about the Chinese buffet (36 min, and 44 min) and two titled "looking for homeless to feed" (around 2 hrs each). This one also seems to use the Chinese buffet title but maybe she's planning to retitle this later?

I suspect her family gave her a sitdown lecture about income and she's worried. She actually went out of the apartment twice and went through with giving cash to homeless for content. She's now into her 6th hour of streaming. Then there's the grandpa thing...
 
Chantal needs a care giver just as much as her grandpa does.

She doesn't need to be in charge of a dependent elderly person, a little girl with Down's syndrome or a kitten.
 
Who's father is this grandfather? Schmee's or step father's? I can't imagine it's birth father's dad given that he visited Schmee during his possibly-last Christmas on earth.

Chantal mentioned this grandfather's wife was the woman who admonished Chantal when she was a child for wanting too much pudding. That makes me think they might be from the step-father's (i.e. normal) side of the family. We know the maternal grandmother and Schmee never made an effort to promote any self-discipline in little cutie.

It must be Smee’s father in Fl.
Chantal’s grandma (Smee’s mom) and grandfather were divorced. She said Grandmas mental health issues were too much for her grandfather.
I always thought grandma fussed at her with the pudding cup.

She’s mentioned a grandma Barbara before, too.
Not sure if that’s the same woman as Smee’s mom or maybe it was Smee’s grandmother.
