I know none of us trust either side of the government (and why should we after the past... decades?), but there are reasons to redact information of victims. And the images are already pretty damning so far. Sadly, not much is likely to come of consequences. Releasing the files is about making the other party's voter base(s) feel guilty about their party while praying for minimum friendly fire, not finding justice for victims.
