A better summary would be "If you don't know anything about China or Japan, there may be some things that you thought were Japanese that were actually borrowed from the Chinese whole cloth."

But that doesn't really make sense, because the average person who doesn't know much about either country couldn't tell you what's supposedly Japanese in the first place, aside from sushi, samurai, origami, anime and ninjas—which are all actually originally Japanese.

One of their alphabets is Chinese, but they thought that was gay and haven't replaced it fully yet because finding a substitute for characters that also have individual meanings besides sound is obviously difficult. Languages affect the way you think beyond the way you communicate. It's why literal translation of some Japanese stuff is some wild shit like Flying Thunder God, which really means something like fast divine thunder in the original language.

For some reason on every American political forum whether it's here, Twitter, or reddit half of the people angrily complaining or saying they won't vote for X, Y, or Z aren't even Americans.

They didn't have that in their civics class lol.

Although your average Americans understanding isn't a ton better. Obama having the best KDA of all time for example isn't even touched on as Trump blows up drug runners to endless complaints.

Unlike republicans, democrats have real conviction and actually achieve their goals. Democrats have achieved more in Trump's second term than Trump has, and that's with all three branches of government and the supreme court on his side (supposedly). Just imagine what they'll do when they get even just the house in a year.
