I don't understand why he wants to go all in on Hytale
As far i understanded from the little info scattered around
  • Different monetization policy than minecraft (if i had to guess hytale aim to be next roblox?)
  • Build in visual scripting tooling
Basically going to boils down the nigger want to rake money while his butt buddies doing the heavy lifting with visual scripting. He want to relive his second life era scummbagery.

Personally I think he has no intention of making anything worthwhile (just like his other projects) and he probably wants more twitch viewers for his "dev" streams. So hence jumping on the Hytale bandwagon.

Mald has some thoughts on monetizing Moldcraft:

TL;DW: He doesn't monetize the Minecraft mod collection (is it even allowed?), and he doesn't plan on monetizing his "port". Unless it's required by Hytale's TOS (???) or something. I'll be honest, I didn't quite parse what the fuck he was trying to say there (in the first 40 seconds).

@02:04: Looks like Mald has imprinted on Simon (friendship with Steve is over). He's *very* excited about Hytale.
@02:30: Mald shows off the merch (not really). He just grabs something and tells us that this is a Hytale shirt he was sent. Is *this* the reason he wants Simon's dick so much? Who knows.
@03:29: "We didn't really have another option. The only other options we had like SpacetimeDB (?) and Vintage Story [...] weren't quite what I wanted".
@03:55: "I feel like this is a home run, and [Riot] just fumbled for some reason, and now Simon owns it, this is gonna be a home run again".
@05:20: "I never wanted to monetize [Blockgame], ever. But I have an idea".

Build in visual scripting tooling
This was, as I understand, on the newer stuff that was all dumped when they left Riot. If it's something they want to bring back, but it really should be a low priority compared to actual gameplay systems.

The only other options we had like SpacetimeDB (?)
Lmao so its basically the backend for Bitcraft online, a failed MMO that has DNA in line with what he wants from Blockgame. The backend tech is some not particularly special server tech that makes bold claims about capabilities that then failed in reality when put to their own game. Don't get me wrong, it does work, but its more just a modern brushing up of old shit as opposed to a revolutionary paradigm. And the game they built atop it to prove its capabilities has dropped off about 80% from its launch a few months ago, and regularly has players complaining about server related issues, alongside the actual game itself being pretty bad and grindy.

The reason I opened with Lmao is that SpacetimeDB is, as the name implies, not a game, not a game engine, not even a server tech, its just a database layer to be integrated into your server stack. Porting Blockgame to it is about as sane as porting his YAML files to Hytale, as if it was just a lift and shift and not actually needing to build shit.

porting his YAML files to Hytale
This is what gets me. The way he talks about it is almost as if he expects Hytale to incorporate all the "MMO" shit by default, and all he (but mostly Jake) will have to do is to mangle some strings, and that's it. But why even do it in the first place? Minecraft is the "default game". If Maldcraft had any chance of becoming "a thing", that was it. And yet what we see is this:
Maldcraft.png

Even if Hytale lives up to the hype (which I doubt, even if the developers themselves say that it's going to be broken on launch, then it's fucked), and it's as amazing as Mald hopes it'll be, the abysmal player count is not due to Minecraft being hard to mod or whatever the fuck. And if he expects that being an "early adopter" would earn him a playerbase, then good fucking luck. "Oh hey, it's an "MMO" by a 7-year assgnome veteran of "Error 37" at Blizzard, built in an early access Minecraft clone, I wonder if it's good".

"Think Minecraft, but we don't have to deal with all the scuff of Minecraft. Like, the reason why Minecraft is so good for modding is because people have done a great of effort in order to make, like, modding frameworks for it. Those are all third-party. Now imagine if all of that tooling, all of that stuff there was first-party". Fucking make it make sense. "Oh yeeeeeeeah, we had years of people making modding frameworks to help even the dumbfuckiest of retards mod the game, but it's actually too hard to deal with, so let's just throw it all away". This entire clip if insane behavior™. "I don't have to restart the server, I don't have to deal with that". Fucking restarting a server is too much work for Mald somehow.

The difference between most hobbyists and Fagtree is that most people can admit they arent the best and stay humble. Any normal person with his level of experience would be rightfully excited to play with new tools, even though more experienced people would use better tools and methods.

His biggest issue is hes been proven bad at everything he claimed to have years of experience at, everything he speaks with authority on through his Barry White filter.

At any point he could admit "hey listen guys, the reality is im not a good programmer, and I've got a lot to learn. I built myself up based off nepotism and ego and Im sorry. I really do enjoy this stuff but I was trying to run before I could walk my entire life, thinking I knew better."

In a world where he could humble himself he might actually get far with sincere effort. But nope! Keep lying to yourself and everyone Mald, these fries ain't gonna salt themselves!

don't understand why he wants to go all in on Hytale, as there seems to be no incentive for all the work they'll have to do. His server on Minecraft, the most popular game of all time, has an average of three players a d
I refuse to even discuss this.

Installing a bunch of Minecraft mods and editing their config is NOTHING like implementing the mod functionality itself. There's tens of thousands of lines of code here that Mald didn't write. He's not gonna port shit

I think it just makes him feel important, "I talked with Hytale dev team" is like new "I worked at Blizzard" for him. Being hated by everyone outside of his audience must feel isolating, so he's ball-washing Simon and brags about having contact with Hytale devs to show that he still has some respect in the industry. The hytale collab was promised to him 3 years ago.

the want to be an early adopter of Hytale, so that anybody who wants an MMO in those early days will have to play Mald's instead of waiting for a skilled developer to release theirs.

It's this plus what Forklift said about monetizing it. Joeyray maybe wanted a gamedev son but his vagina gave birth to a wannabe CEO, and a retarded one at that.

Anyway, Mald's plan is not gonna pan out:

1) I don't think Hytale is going to be that popular because normies will see it and say "I have minecraft at home" then go home and play minecraft for 10 minutes. It might become a niche, which means even less players will be drawn to Blockgame on Hytale, but it's not gonna happen because

2) porting ALL OF BLOCKGAME'S PLUGINS with 1 (one) slave is not gonna happen. Jake is gonna get fed up with Jason's bullshit halfway through and throw in the towel. And that will be the end of Blockgame because Jason does not know how to mod stuff apart from changing values in a YAML file AND he's not gonna hire jeets to complete it because his ego won't allow him. But let's assume his best case scenario happens and

3) Hytale is a success. It sells more copies than the Bible. Jesus Christ himself comes back and becomes a Hytale streamer. Everyone + their moms plays Hytale. And then Jake ports all of Blockgame to Hytale on release day and world peace is achieved. People flock to Blockgame to try it. How long will it take for 98% of them to realise the server admin is Pirate "I used to work at Blizzard" Software? For how long will the remaning 1.99% tolerate his bullshit until one of them tries to make his own Blockgame with blackjack and hookers? The answer to both questions is "probably not much". The funniest scenario then would be: someone actually makes their own Blockgame with the finest blackjack tables and the fattest hookers on all of Hytale and Jason throws a shitfit, then he tries to do what he described in one of his SKG videos and hits better-Blockgame with a ton of poorly-coded bots he probably bought from a random Russian, then the Hytale devs do what Jason didn't mention in those videos and vaporize him, his bots and his shitty server from Hytale's history.

But the likely scenarios are either MC Blockgame goes up in flames and Jake leaves, or Jason backpedals his plans to move to Hytale with some retarded word salad excuse.

Jake leaves
That would be great for pirate software as he will have a convenient scapegoat for why it sucks ass and no one plays it. From how he treats Jake it sometimes even looks like that's what he's trying to do!

This is kinda shitposty but this post from india thread made me chuckle.
From what I can make out:
  • Izzat is the general concept of honor/status
  • Aukat is the conceptual limits of one's potential honor/status (basically 'your place' or 'your role')
  • Maana is the acceptance of one's aukat (and of the izzat concept in general)
"Do you see my maana saar? what am I needing to do for you?"

its funny because it actually works, too

Mald explains his grand "plan" to "port" the "MMO":

There's no information about the moddability of Hytale or what the community will be able to produce for it, but Jason is already able to say it's going to take his standard deadline of "about a year / by next year".
Gonna kill two birds with one stone here. This is the information provided by Hytale in a blog addressing modding specifically. You can read the entire thing here. but to save time......

1765261224321.png

Mind you, I think these are great features. I think Hytale is gonna be great for modders. But what I find so funny is that after reading the blog and knowing what Mald does when it comes to "developing" the Block game. It practically shows why Mald would specifically be attracted and interested in "porting" BlockGame into Hytale. It practically streamlines his already light workload. In fact, it makes a lot of sense that Mald would vastly prefer Hytale.

1. The modding is server-side. So Mald's whole gimmick of server-side plugins cluster fuck quite literally can be "ported."

2. JSON files. Which is literally the lifeblood of Block Game, is the main method of developing everything, really, for Hytale. So Mald's favourite activity of changing text in preconfigured JSON files is literally spoon-fed support by the devs of Hytale.

3. Everything can be changed via JSON files. Hot loadable. So again, exactly the kind of mechanism mald can work with. It's programming but with none of the consequences of being ass at it. The game itself can be made to your mind's eye.

So with that in mind, and especially having to watch a lot of streams of Mald's "developing" block game. I truly get it from Mald's perspective.... Switching your game to the platform that quite literally enables your kind of workflow makes sense. It literally enables him to do exactly what he wants with even less friction, and dare I say give him more ability to expand Block Game further than I'm sure he even intended himself.

Here's a fun thought......

When Hytale's EA period begins. which is set for next year on the 13th of January. Mald will either "release" a hastily done Chapter 3 of Heart Bound to give himself not only a self felt but also give himself the excuse to "go on break". He will then get fully sucked into "porting" the block game. I, however, will simply not believe him at his word. Since again I think he will fall into the same trap that has prevented Shartbound from being done...........Scope/Feature Creep. He will get WAYYYY too into "porting" the server. I personally bet we will see him redefine this task of porting into a "remake" or "remaster". I'll even put a bet on him making a YouTube short when the Hytale hype train starts about what kind of "effort" he is putting into Block Game.

Mald: "Well guys," *hehe* "you see....."*opens MS Paint and draws a cube and then another cube, but bigger next to it *"the smaller cube is the old block game on Minecraft, you see, with the far superior modding API that Hytale has built it allows me to not only port Block game to Hytale "*draws a line from the smaller cube to the bigger cube* "With what I can now do you're not only getting the 1:1 BlockGame experiance it's practically an entire new experince so really......it's a remake. *pauses to read chat for a hot second* Yeeeeeeahhhhhhhhhhh..... That's why the Viking chapter for Heartbound is on hold"

Some of you will cringe at that, but you fucking know the fag will say something along those lines. But Hytale is gonna Honey pot mald out of releasing any more real content for Heartbound as he gets sucked into his new obsession of JSON filing his passion project to life.

TLDR; I bet Mald will sink himself into another development hell, stuck in an endless pile of JSON files he can't bring himself to leave alone.

This is not debriefing 3, but consider it a preview. I think the angle of it is forming before my very eyes

want to be an early adopter of Hytale
it's exactly that imo, fresh source of minions to manipulate into a following. he probably thinks it's going to beat minecraft out of the water and be the next big thing because it's vewee indiependie now guiz! of course his lust for power and followers would never leave such an opportunity unused

He's going to make mods for Hytale now? So has he abandoned Hearthbound?
I'm also watching Joon the Kings documentation about him, and there is a point where he claimed he's gonna need an inhaler for the rest of his life, due to this pneumonia/COVID-infection. But I never saw him ever using an inhaler. Was that just a straight out lie?

TL;DW: He doesn't monetize the Minecraft mod collection (is it even allowed?),
According to Mojang, no you can't monetize mods. Nor can you do that with a collection of mods.

Should be mentioned that Hytale plays better as a multiplayer game than single player in terms of performance.

But I never saw him ever using an inhaler. Was that just a straight out lie?
No clips because RIP VODs, but Mald claims that using the inhaler caused some sort of fungal infection because nobody told him that he had to wash his mouth after using it. After "like 6 months" of using it he went to his doctor who "gave [him] an antifungal, [...] and within a week [he] had [his] full lung capacity back". Of course, this doesn't explain why he had to use this unspecified inhaler in the first place, unless he was infected by a time-traveling fungus, but whatever. In Mald's (poorly transcribed) words it was "they're like your lungs are screwed up you're going to use this for rest of your life". For reference, this whole story was told on August 25 2024 @ 03:15:35 (vNKuJyaGC4M).

Also, here's Mald having COVID for 0.5-2.5 years, depending on when you ask him :story:

To be as fair as possible, "having COVID" != "recovering from COVID", but it's still funny. And he can't keep it straight anyway.

Pretty much. He's hoping he can have people who aren't aware of him latch onto him and use them as new cultists. I hope it doesn't work given how readily available info on him is now.

This makes me realize he's probably the biggest example of grifter being an applicable word. It's grossly overused, but Jason really does hit the qualifications for that big time.
