I'm sure it's been said already, but every time I'm reminded of Clav's existence I immediately think of the rat utopia experiment, where a select number of male rats didn't pursue mates. They rather sat inside their burrow, constantly eating and grooming themselves. The researcher labeled them the "beautiful ones" I think.
