Several people were shot in Washington, DC, on Wednesday, including at least one member of the US National Guard, according to a source familiar with the early reports and a law enforcement official.

The shooting occurred in downtown Washington, DC, near the White House. DC Metropolitan Police said on X that they are at the scene of a shooting in the area and advised people to avoid the area.

The National Guard did not immediately respond to request for comment. The circumstances of the shooting are not immediately clear.

National Guard troops from multiple states have been in Washington, DC, for months as part of President Donald Trump’s anti-crime crackdown in the nation’s capital, which has since expanded to other cities across the country.

CNN has reached out to the Pentagon, the National Guard, the White House and DC’s metropolitan police for comment.

Guys, if you are really interested in the deaths of service members there were more than 50 deaths in Fort Bragg alone in 2024. These are the FOIA'd death reports for just that year. The circumstances of death are REDACTED.

I think many of them don’t even think about wider society, whether ours or their own. Hence why they cannot build or sustain civilisation.

They merely think of their immediate wants and desires, such as: taking whatever they want, whenever they want, without consequences; wanting easy, work-free money; hatred and envy towards the demographic who have success, achievements and live positive lives (whites); and hatred towards the majority culture (whites) because they don’t fit in.

They lack the self-reflection to understand why they don’t achieve or fit in, so they just want to destroy the thing that makes them feel upset: whites.
