Much more true to Watterson. My only issue with that edited one was how many people actually thought it was actually one of his comics.

Knowing how protective he was and still is over his work (which I'm glad for because that's probably why we haven't seen any shitty television shows or movies of Calvin and Hobbes) I have a feeling he'd hate that fake comic.

The Far Side guy is also super litigious. Please don’t steal my drawing of two cows talking about taxes. Maybe… try creativity?

Calvin at 17 losing his virginity to Susie Derkins is spiritually canon, though.

If everyone is talking about C&H, then one of my favourites was his parents (from memory, might have it slightly off) talking and went:

"You're not sorry we had Calvin, are you?"
"Are you?"
"I asked first."

And my other was one without dialogue and shows Calvin go past his mother dressed as a pterodactyl, then you see a ladder lean against the outside of the house through the window, then his mother is sprinting...

Anyway, a non- C&H tax.

BTW not sure if anyone brought it up but yesterday the 18th was the 40th anniversary of the debut of C&H. On the topic of hoping Bill Watterson doesn't die anytime soon so some soulless studio or company can turn his creation into some faggy Fortnite skins I had to look him up he's only 67 meaning he wrapped up C&H when he was 37 in 95' now that's a guy who had it figured out. What really surprises me is how there is literally no video footage of him save some photographs from 30 years ago and the last audio recording of him is going on a decade past for me if there was one guy I would've liked to have seen on Charlie Rose doing a sit down interview it would've been him.

Calvin and Hobbes was all right, but there are a few strips where Watterson's hopeless boomerism comes out nearly unfiltered, which, in retrospect, makes the whole comic U.S. Acres-tier if you really think about it. Garfield is the thinking man's post-WW2 GOAT newspaper strip, really (don't bother posting a reply if you don't agree, I won't read it anyways). I wish he had improved his writing skills rather than his dinosaur drawing skills tbh.
YOU WERE THINKING OF HEATHCLIFF YOU FUCKING DOUBLE NIGGER FUCK YOU

He is the anti–Scott Adams in every conceivable dimension. I bought that Calvin & Hobbes tenth anniversary book and it’s just him ranting about art and dignity, and at one point he’s like, I did not become a cartoonist to be a factory foreman. And you just know he’s talking about the Garfield industrial complex.

It's more likely he was talking about Charles Schulz, with whom he had a (long-running?) feud.
