People give DSP a lot of shit for manipulating and supposedly financially exploiting mentally disabled people. Nick's fanbase is entirely comprised of mentally disabled people and I don't think it's been pointed out that he takes advantage of their lack of cognitive abilities to enrich himself.

I also fully agree with what Melty said about people like Runkle, that they pretend they don't know who the abusers are and what they do, for their own convenience and because that person is nice to THEM. It's far easier to tell a victim to put up with it than to suffer even a moment of awkwardness to excise someone anti-social from the friend group. And I think you should definitely draw conclusions about the character of people who behave this way.
