I don’t even know what was wrong with the first drawing. It’s a common thing in media and real life for the older kid to not like the new baby. Hell, the first Rugrats movie revolved around that, and I was even that kid when my brother was born. It’s something you (hopefully) grow out of. I haven’t watched the show, but from what I’ve seen the second pic is extremely out of character for them both. I’m also just sick of abortion just being treated as no big deal.

You are correct. They both are child friendly people who go out their way to protect their family members. They can be quite cold at times do their professions and life experiences but they would never go for a casual abortion.
Loid (the man) became a spy so kids wouldn't have to experience what he went trough. It took him some time realize how much he cares about Anya after adopting her for his job but he's devoted father and clearly happy to have a family he assumed to be impossible for him.
Yor (the woman) raised her brother from early age and became an assassin to provide for him. She was delighted to become a stepmom for Anya and she felt insulted to be mistaken for a babysitter when kidnapper tried to take her.
These just aren't people to abort their child. Hell, they wouldn't even adopt them out. They would find a way to protect their children, no matter what because that's what you do. Yor was ready to kill a random guy so Anya could get to a good school (fortunately not necessary), that's their level of commitment.

This doesn't work as a gender dysphoria allegory because male Kirila can actually become Gardevoir. They only evolve into Gallade if exposed to a Dawn Stone (which is something the trainer has to actually give to the pokemon). So I feel like this actually works better as an allegory for a parent or guardian who troons out their kids: much like how these irresponsible people do it for attention and sympathy, something totally selfish, the trainer made their Kirila a Gallade simply because they wanted one. A much better allegory, according to a qrt is a female Gardevoir wanting to be a Gallade, which also reflects reality as women cannot become biological men.

But no, it always has to be framed as righteous political activism to try and make it so people don’t shit on them or make fun of them for it. Even yaoi/yuri fans in countries like Japan freely admit they consume the content to get off on it but westerners won’t do the same since it’d be called “icky fetishization”, even though that’s exactly what they’re doing.
