It's hard to understand how men get to this level.

I can only chalk it up to the rapidly increasing worthlessness that many men are feeling. Lonely, aimless and no idea what to do or where to go, including men who have their own good careers and money which some of these whales have. Generations ago, they probably could have found some value, now they can't. This goes on all sides of the vortex, Doody apparently makes good money and chooses to spend his days watching Phil and shitting out 10 videos. Dickers makes probably about as much as Phil does, actually has a family unlike Phil, and chooses... this.

You're thinking too much like a normal person.

The whales started to give Phil money because they genuinely thought he was in distress at first.
Then when faced with the fact that they threw their cash away cause Phil was never in distress in the first place, they just choose to say it was all in their plan and they definitely knew about it.
It's all sunken costs fallacy.

At the end of the day it doesn't really matter why they give that money, it's just interesting to see how without them Phil might have had more occasions to learn from his mistakes.

Somehow they keep rewarding his bad behaviour despite him treating them like shit on a daily basis.

2 grand a week. No kids, mortgage rate probably less than 3%, one vehicle. If Phil was not a complete mongoloid he’d be pouring 3-4 grand into an index fund every month. Dude could have retired at the age of 50 if not a fucking imbecile. Not that you could call stopping playing video games retiring, but I digress.

Or paid off his shit by paying on the principal every month, if he wanted to do something financially smart without any risk or research needed at all. Or worked at avoiding bankruptcy, so he could take out a small home loan and fixed/upgraded his house and then refinanced. Or fuck, maybe put some more money than the minimum and more interest than none at all in Leanna’s soap business. Even if it hadn’t been super successful at least it’d have been something they’d done together.

There’s just so much life he’s whizzed down his leg just by being so fucking determined to allow inertia to manage as much as possible. If he was a pleasant person I’d feel really bad for him. But he’s just a cunt, and like some other cunts, you just wish this one’d get the cancer.

No, dummy. That's for people without any street smarts. What you need to do is acquire expensive gadgets you don't need and then pay them off with marked up payment plans.
