Anisa was by his side during his most iconic moments. She was fine with the Tana content cop and the Nigger of it all at the time. Ian was also fine with it. What changed? The political landscape did. YT’s TOS did. The pendulum was already in that direction but it swung down extra hard and Ian realised the juice wasn’t worth the squeeze. He woke up and smelled the coffee, which may be more apt to say.

Ian as idubbbz during his peak was nothing more than a larper. Chronically online and with an edgy personality fresh from the printing block. Don’t get me wrong, it was pretty convincing, which is why people are still in denial over this, but consider that it’s no coincidence H3 also took a dramatic left turn at the same time Ian was changing course by staying more silent. He quietly ditched his schtick immediately when the people pushing back against him had the most power. That shouldn’t be discounted.

His Sam Hyde documentary proved this was always a larp, where he exhibited a complete and utter lack of understanding regarding irony and comedy. This flew somewhat under the radar because Sam was smart enough to do a whole “no hard feelings” incredibly good faith conclusion on his main channel, but in podcasts nearer the time (just before Sam’s Anisa stuff) he was more blunt, basically along the lines of ‘who the fuck does he think he is, trying to be the irony police’. So, Ian had enough benefit of the doubt to skate by a little longer. This didn’t last.

I think another great example stems from the follow-up OF defence video. He wears a beanie, purposefully matching some guy he makes fun of later who had a beanie in his Twitter pfp. Ian responds seriously to some tweets from that person, who basically was sperging that idubbbz changing ruined his life, which was nothing more than melodramatic bait which I remember was confirmed by the guy himself on twitter afterwords. It was such an obvious troll Ian should’ve been able to recognise it as something similar to what he even might do - but instead he fell it for entirely. Dressing up as the troll ironically is something Ian would’ve done at his idubbbz peak, but again as he’s falling for bait, he doesn’t have the upper hand to pull off the rebuttal. It was a crack in the facade beyond the more recognisable OF stuff.

We can see this now when he insults people. The “disgraced boxing coach” line being a prime example. He refers to his ex-coach by this moniker exclusively. It sounds silly when he keeps saying it, and is a silly joke to begin with (ironic, deliberate cringe), but it’s also something he used to do in old content. Yet again it no longer works, because he’s legitimately mad at this person, it’s not a joke at all, and he doesn’t have the upper hand anymore for it to translate as one.

Anisa didn’t break Ian. In reality, they’re perfect for each other. He is a pathetic man with severe daddy issues who loves the fact she fights all his battles for him. Crying because his boxing coach reminds him of his father isn’t down to her. Getting her to threaten to fire the coach over this is why the dynamic suits him. He isn’t always confrontational but she is, when she acts like an entitled lunatic he gets to sit there looking innocent while agreeing privately.

TLDR: Nobody should pity idubbbz, Ian is exactly where he wants to be.

Maybe she was using him as her mouthpiece longer than I realized. I never really watched his Content Cop stuff or even the Sam Hyde doc until this week. I just was never that deep into yt drama. I always preferred his Bad Unboxing and Kickstarter Crap videos because they felt more honest although one of the clips I saw this week from the Bog podcast he admitted they were more about clever editing than any kind of comedy genius.

To your point, I saw a clip of H3 spreging out during the Hasan controversy sperging out about something Anisa said. Basically he said Ian didn’t even know what the Israeli-Palestinian conflict was until the week before the Hasan video. So maybe you're right.

I never thought Ian was especially complex, but his wit used to be sharp. Irony clearly went over his head. They’ve both become painfully sarcastic and passive aggressive on their podcasts. Maybe all those years ago it wasn’t real wit that made us laugh just well-edited sarcasm packaged to look like it.
 
IIRC, Twitch will attach some splash damage if you raid someone and a bunch of the viewers you bring with you catch mod actions.

This means that other streamers who might want to help by handing off their viewers in a raid have to weigh the liability from the target chat having such overreactive powertripping mods.

Han is toxic and poisoning the vibe.

Unfortunately I don't think Mr. SAY NIGGER! will ever be able to let his chat run unmoderated until he is able to move on from the "learned empathy" wokescold persona.

Skimming through the chatlogs and no wonder why the viewership and sub count is dropping sharply. First of all, who would tune in for a retard who does the most mundane shit on stream, takes minutes to formulate the simplest of thoughts, and interrupts himself every five minutes to whine about his haters. Not even snarkers could stomach that, all of the support they gave him at the beginning wasn't genuine, it was all to spite Ethan.

There is no doubt that Mr. Jomha is exactly the type of man that can ask those he just met, "Call me The Wolf."
