Not sure how that's a counterpoint, but I agree, its a superficial LARP without the theological appreciation.

To be clear, the Crusades were cool and based, emphasis on were. Not every Crusade, but enough of the early ones to establish the ethos. You should be equally suspicious of anyone who tries to say the Crusades were all bad or all good, because the truth is more complicated and nuanced than that.

Perhaps in comparison to a lot of the casual protestant sects but once you get used to the routine it really doesn't feel like high maintenance. In many cases LARPers cling to the optional stuff and tend to downplay or ignore what's actually required.

The christian nationalist group that's funding kiwifarms is finding new targets. It's a part of the wider war against Japanese culture since judeo-christianity cannot compete against it, so they try to censor it. The only still open question is which organization (Heritage Foundation?) or which specific individual owns kiwifarms in the financial and agenda sense. It's definitely someone tied with the MAGA regime and a part of Project 2025.
