Not sure if this was posted here yet, but Viv officially confirmed that the Goetia are Lucifer's creations, and that's why the Speaker of God looks like them because she was an inspiration for Lucifer when creating them.

I recalled Viv state that the Goetia were going to be explored in Hazbin in a Livestream shortly after it got picked up, which honestly, even back then, I was skeptic about that given how large the cast already was at the time to focus on a class that has their place in a spin off show.

It's weird to me how she wrote a show about Heaven and Hell and is so resistant to putting God (or Jesus) into it in any capacity. I don't know if it's fear of backlash or fear that she's simply not equipped to cover it but, like, it comes with the territory. The fucking writers of Spawn took a whack at it and they knew it was bad.

I’ve said it before but her character designs and how she writes characters reminds me so much of 2010 sonic OCs or what a 12 year old considers funny and well-written. They’re just not properly planned out.

I'm more curious on how Viv, the people who work on this show, and/or the fans that constantly suck Viv's clit are going to respond to this backlash. I hope the defense is as completely braindead as them saying the Sir Pentious sexual assualt joke isn't a sexaul assault joke.

An earlier post mentioned the big twist of Heaven and Hell being in the same plane. This would be a big ass pull, but the target audience would find it "deep" and "thought-provoking."

Whether her intention or not, Viv made Heaven the rich parts of an urban area (or a first world country) and Hell is the poor parts (or a third world country) while Charlie and Emily are bleeding-heart liberals that are fighting for socioeconomic justices. Another example of these two being stand-ins for their creator.

I do think its possible to make someone being abused funny and having serious moments since it depends on the characters' POV. What hurts it was it being done in quick succession and treating the characters as weirdly omniscient.
Viv being high and mighty about 'I treat sex abuse seriously' is also a huge point, but it is kind of cheating since most normal-ish people usually watch only the show and barely dig deep on social media to know about that.

Starlight gets raped and it's treated like 9/11 by the cast and crew, Hughie gets raped by a shapeshifter and molested by his childhood hero and the characters literally blame him for it and the showrunner giggles about how funny it is.


Sexual abuse against women = taken 100% seriously and with gravitas + a major arc for the character
Sexual abuse against men = funny joke that isn't taken seriously whatsoever by the show or the characters

Just pick a side. Is SA just joke-fuel or a serious topic? You can't do both and act surprised when people call you a bad writer.

I think with The Boys its worse since like the source material treats male sexual abuse seriously and Kripke at least tries to pretend to be in-tune with it.

For Vivziepop, her issue is more actual immaturity since I don't really recall her doing SA with her female characters at all, its more tone deaf in how she sometimes treats sexual abuse against the male characters seriously but also plays it off as a joke.

It really comes from how tone deaf of a character Valentino is since Vivzie tries to have him be both this silly twink and serious monster. It could work if like the serious monster stuff is something that came up later while the silliness is all we had prior, but Vivzie switches between the two. He is perhaps one of the worst examples of Vivzie's writing philosophy of making her villains pathetic and intimidating at the same time which so far only works for characters like Adam, Vox, and Mammon.
