The legislation around prostitution changed pretty drastically in 2014, particularly what the illegal part for the hooker (,living on the proceeds of prostitution') meant, and if that was even constitutional as a charge, after a controversial 2013 Supremecourt ruling shook up the hornests' net of this issue in Canadian law again(Canada v Bedford). There's still no legislative definition of prostitution but there's a pretty tried and true three point test gleaned from case law precedent, which is a fairly regular thing in Common Law. There's a case currently in the works in the Supremecourt, approval for hearing the appeal was just last Week actually, so it's still a bit of a strange climate. There's some immunity from prosecution for the ,sex worker' in certain situations and from certain evidence evidence being used. The entire legislative shift was intended to give sharper teeth to investigating and prosecuting under-age prostitution, trafficking, and exploitation of vulnerable people/communities, but it also made more definitely illegal the cases where prostitution is illegal, as opposed to the generally nebulousness , even contradictory nature of that in the past(which had rather infamously been described some of the SC Justices as <<bizarre>>, among other things), It's a legal quagmire of a thing that would probably need an expert in that area of Canadian law to make absolute sense of. And it's still being challenged and changed as we speak. It's tougher on, and clearer about, the illegality of buying sex at least.
Still, if Chantal did actually hire a male prostitute as she claimed, the chance of that being prosecuted years later, (despite no real legislative statute of limitations on prostitution crimes, at least that I'm aware of, happy to be corrected) are pretty well nil.

I enjoy Sansa's commentary, but sometimes I think she's off base. Even if Chins still wants to get Salah to Canada, she'll never be able to. She had three years to pay off her debt and back taxes, but instead of working toward that goal (because she doesn't have the patience for that long-term nonsense), she placated Salah momentarily with upgraded fartboxes, vehicles, and a trip to Thailand. She also accumulated three more years of tax debt, because she convinced herself that just because she was squatting in the Middle East, she didn't have to keep paying income tax to Canada. She'll be even more spendthrift now that she's back in Canada, this time with other people's money if she can keep the grift going, which is doubtful.

Just maybe she has not left Syria, she begged and grifted money saying it was for her big move back home and also saying that she has a couple of months where debt repayments are really high.
If indeed she is in Syria, she would have to come up with some fantastic, believable excuses

Until she does pop up in a hotel room and we know 100% it is in Canada, I am not convinced that this whole situation was for the big move, but I do believe she had to come up with some serious money for debt payments and lied to cover it up.
 
I still don't think shes gonna go willingly. As others pointed out, she wanted Salah to fight for her. When he said "lol k bye," thats a huge bpd injury and not according to plan. To pack up and waddle back to Canada is to admit everyone was right.

I dont think its a coincidence that despite how much she flies, suddenly she had a super serious medical thing that suddenly prevented her from getting on that plane

Chins is capable of going to ground for a while, and has historically. She'll pop up somewhere when she's no longer getting the rush she needs from food and promise of new beginnings. When she's worried about having enough money, when her family starts putting pressure on her, when Peetz or Pseudo-Peetz don't behave the way she wants, when she's high enough that she loses her inhibition, or when she gets too lonely or angry etc. When any of these factors trump whatever she wants to keep hidden, she'll appear, whether that's in Canada or Syria or sealing at a cheap hotel somewhere in-between.

For right now I'm expecting more of the same pattern. Life has become increasingly more unpleasant for her in Syria and she wants a break to beeze and run away from the problems for a while, then slink back as soon as the same happens wherever she is next. Except this time she is on edge / keeps getting cold feet before she leaves because she knows that her position is far more precarious than ever before. She's running out of money and options; Salah has never been less under her control and for the first time she's afraid she won't be able to swan her way back in / he'll be married off, even perpetual cuck and last-option Peetz has people who are giving him pennies and whispering in his ear.

Which possibility does Chins find the most discomforting, right now? That's always the situation she will attempt to avoid. Unfortunately for her she changes her moind about situations every time she blinks.

I also don't think she could resist going live in syria either. The only time she has ever been able to stay offline is when smee and uncle wouldn't let her go live last time she moved back. The hotel is probably a lie and she is staying with one of them until she can move into her new apartment, if it exist.
