For this specific salesman/politician type of lie—if it's a lie, unlike Trump who just likes McDonalds and shit—the best framing is the one Musk uses: "I'm a fucking billionaire and even I admit that [Wonder Bread or some bro video game or whatever garbage] is great." The message to the audience is You're right, like me. Elon fucks it up all the time because he's stupid, but it's the right angle.

Democratic politicians always psychopathically lie about their whole lives instead of just the one little thing. Hillary can't like hot sauce; she has to carry it everywhere like an epipen. Newsom can't enjoy some macaroni and cheese; he has to be this Grapes of Wrath character.

It's one of the starkest differences between the parties.
