Yesterday I was once again shocked by how quickly you can empty a skid-steer bucket full of gravel with just a shovel. The skid-steer was a force multiplier bringing the gravel closer to its' destination but the rest of the way was done by hand.
They are temporary because they were built for a single purpose (a huge world fair). The place was built literally like a theme park and once the fair was over there isn't a good way to utilize the space for normal day to day stuff. So they kept a centerpiece building that they can use and destroyed the rest so they can utilize the space.
