Yes and no. The thing is, Chicago would no doubt immediately go all nigger warlord and try to steal the food from everywhere nearby. In a SHTF situation the left is absolutely going to give up the thing veneer of civility and just declare "we aren't going hungry, get to work, we need food delivered by Sunday." The only question is if they go full mask off and start forcing brown and black slaves to do it or if they try and let them play warlord while they force white people to do it.
The problem is, day one, Chicago loses power, because every power line going towards it is destroyed and every Engineer they try to send out either flees for his life or is sniped by some good ol' boy with a hunting rifle. And even if they do get an engineer out to fix the power lines, they're destroyed again within hours. Even if Chicago puts down pseudo-military units to stop that shit, well, 1. they're being shot at constantly, 2. the lines are just destroyed further out, 3. the fucking not-rebelling regions nearby just cut them off.
The ComEd towers and transmission lines running into and around the outer parts of the city are all destroyed. Firebombed or just regular bombed or just hit with a fucking truck at 3 AM. Even the transmission lines between substations are targeted, and that shit cascades quickly. Chicago's power mains in the city proper are mostly underground... but they have substations where the above ground lines go underground, and they're targeted.
And that's assuming they're being rude. If they're being nice? They call ComEd and have the power turned off for the entire city. It can literally be done with a flick of the switch and a few switches being pulled at substations. Chicago has some small power plants and the like, but not enough to run the entire city. Even if they're running these constantly, 2, 3 days later, and the city goes dark.
The danger here would be other shitlibs and jews in the media trying to guilt everyone into just letting Chicago riot, turn the power back on, yes they've declared a civil war but look, sad brown people can't play netflix, don't you feel bad about sad brown people?
That's day one and it's a problem that lasts the entire time Chicago is in rebellion. No power.
No power means no communications, no entertainment, no HVAC. Any food they have is now rotting away, slowly then quickly. And that's assuming they can even get to Elgin or Palatine to GET to the food warehouses, because the fedboys know exactly where Chicago stores it's food, and that's either seized or bombed to shit by now.
No power also more importantly means no water and sewage. All of Chicago's water comes from Lake Michigan from a network of pumps that require a shitload of power. Similarly, without power it's waste just sits there in the system, going as far out and as deep down as gravity will send it... but there's a limit.
3 days in. That's when they have no water pressure left. A boil water order is sent out -- via carrier pigeon I guess, cause they have no fucking power now -- which means they have no way to boil water. If this starts Monday, by Thursday the water is not safe to drink -- and there's precious little of it left.
7 days in and the sewage is a huge fucking problem. You'll have dindus contaminating what very limited water resources they DO have, and that's before the sewage lines start backing up. If the system goes down for a full week, that shit is going into the Chicago river, and then right into the streets and basements. Welcome to Neo-India, only we're not a bunch of Jeetroaches so enjoy your dysentery, typhoid, and cholera. Even if you're not drinking the shit-water, Tyrone down the street washed that rotting chicken he stole from a family he killed with shit-water, so everyone in his tribe is now shitting and vomiting disease ridden waste everywhere.
Week one, I-55, I-90, I-94, I-80, I-290, and I-294 are all destroyed. Rail lines are destroyed not just at Chicago but up the chain too -- they can do it anywhere, and once done, they're useless until they're repaired -- and the fedboys say if you repair them you go to jail. Overpasses, bridges, interchanges, they're all bombed to shit, and IEDs are placed as gifts for the assholes they send (via gunpoint cause they learned what happened to the Engineers trying to get power back up) to fix that. And of course the second they do, they're shot at. To say nothing of the question -- who would be sending them supplies? Chicago doesn't exactly have any resources they could be trading for food et all.
So there's no fucking food coming in, no ammo coming in, unless the CCP or other rebelling blue states are sending help via helicopter or plane. A quick drone flying into an engine or two puts a stop to that, and that's just what local boys could do -- the fedboys could do worse.
Trash is also building up, cause Chicago has no place to send it's garbage. People will toss trash in the transfer stations to be taken to the dumps, but no roads means they fill up within days. Dump trucks have no where to take shit, fill up, and stop. Where does the trash go then? Streets. Alleyways. Basements. What does that bring to the city? Rats. Roaches. Even more disease.
Hospitals have no medicine. Gang violence -- niggers playing pretend warlord because the head niggers are playing pretend warlord too -- erupts, leading to mass casualty events. Trash + no hygiene + a collapse of the medical system.
Week 1. No power. No shipments in or out of the city. Water slows to a trickle. They might send out gangs to try and rob the suburbs, but the fedboys are there pretty quickly and the good ol' boys nearby now have de-facto permission to kill some shitty cityboys that have been smugly making their lives worse for generations. Even if they manage to loot dry the local suburbs, that just buys them a week, maybe two -- but it's far more likely they're stopped. Everyone who can flee, flees. Anyone left are either stupid, true believers, or prevented from leaving.
Week 2. Still no power. No food or almost no food. Water is poison. Diseases start breaking out. Trash is fucking everywhere.
By this time the dindus are rioting EVERYWHERE, setting fire to EVERYTHING, and thanks to no power, there's no water to put the fires out.
The only path out of this for Chicago is to somehow seize farmland around themselves, arrange press-gang farming or kidnap or entice local farmers, and somehow defend these militarily for upwards of a year. All while everyone is starving to death and every nigger chimp that can get something heavy or sharp or with some dakka is going "ooga booga gibs me dat."
Months? Maybe. But I suspect around week two the assholes who caused the problem will be dead -- either killed by the fedboys or by their own pet dindus demanding gibs -- and it'll turn into a "we need to stop the mother of all chimpouts and treat the survivors" type situation.
