it'll be the other way around, pipewire is a drop-in replacement for jack, alsa, and pulseaudio and replaces them all with a single audio server. i think pipewire is the default audio server in arch now. the pipewire-pulse, pipewire-alsa, and pipewire-jack packages are compatibility layers that send pulseaudio/alsa/jack api requests to the pipewire audio server.
try adding

there's like 47 different config files for it and i honestly cannot tell which it fucking uses

None of you will know the horror of playing that game as a small child, being terrified as this thing stalks your party for half the game, and then getting your shit pushed in when it finally decides to TPK the characters you named after your grade school friends.

Don't let the DEI shit get in the way of having fun. If I'm not mistaken, all the gay romance is entirely optional now. It's a good, long game with a lot to do. If you want to play something similar, try Divinity: Original Sin 1 and 2 by the same studio (sure as hell a lot harder than BG3, especially OS2).

it actually uses all of them. make a file called 99-whatever.conf in~/.config/pipewire/pipewire.conf.d/and put any settings in there. the 99- prefix makes absolutely sure it overwrites any other config files (pipewire handles conflicting settings from multiple config files by loading files with numbers in order, so higher number prefixes will overwrite settings that were set by other config files). you can put config files with pretty much any name in~/.config/pipewire/pipewire.conf.d/and it will use them.
i remember having some quality issues and audio crackling when i first switched to pipewire years ago and i'm pretty sure changing the resampling quality fixed it (however i'm not 100% certain because it was so long ago now, i might have done something else too…). maybe gemini can give you some other config settings to try if upping resampling quality doesn't help

You know, it's funny that the Dungeons & Dragons video game is MORE faggoty than the communist-made walking simulator RPG (Disco Elysium). There is just something that infects nu-wave D&D players. It's like Tumblr safehorny but worse, since I gotta fuckin put up with it for hours.

Also if you want to ascribe some backstory to the PEdulum song "The Other Side" you should consider the track "The Tempest" to be a prequel to it.

From what I remember the album "In Silico" which has both of these tracks was meant as a sort of callback to the new millennium futurism. It was filled with all sorts of callouts to exciting new technologies of the early 2000s.
So, if it were made today the background chorus in "The Other Side" probably would have been the Tiktok TTS voices.

I don't know why but the constant back and forth in this thread about ga shit in modrern vidya just reminded me how weirdly sparse halloween-ish looking kinda games are being made these days.

Like during the ps2 times that kinda stuff was everywhere, especially for turn based rpg games for some reason. Like it didn't mater if it was anime looking, realistic looking, some tie in to a movie, that shit was everywhere. Stuff kinda bled into the ps3 era a bit too.
