I also think he kept Elora drunk or drugged constantly in order to better control her. She was pregnant when she ran away to the shelter, so that was possibly a time when she was her most sober and lucid. I think JF really hurt Elora during one of his domestic violence rounds, he realised she would have to be hospitalised, so he murdered her, then abused Elora's remains so she could be safely disposed of without leaving identifying factors like teeth, DNA or intact human bones.

I know the last part seems beyond the pale, but bare with me: if JF were to convert his Families kitchen into a makeshift laboratory, if JF had access to an open top freezer, it is well within the realms of possibility that he could cordon off a room from his toddler and infant children and slowly reduce his victim over a period of 3 weeks to biological *matter* (sorry, my stomach turned too by typing this out). He could dispose of the evidence using the municipal waste system, but I think he would feel vainglory by doing it in a clever unintuitive way.
