Uh, I made an rather unfortunate discovery...looks like Mega Falinks is basically just a retarded take on a fanmade evolution for it
The virgin Mega Falinks (official):

The less shitty virgin "Legiondary":

Aside from the lack of segments replaced with that middle waist segment, its practically identical in execution.
I should note that I may be making up bullshit, but the latter was made in 2020

I genuinely feel sorry for Pokémon fans. There are so many things in this game that are wrong. I heard the new Digimon game is solid, however.
The only aspect that this game might solid on is competitive... in the future once Champions reveals the abilities of some of these cracked Megas. However, I'm in no rush to hit up Showdown, so yeah, no.

Fuck this nigger franchise, I swear I must be getting old because the new designs look like dogshit, and I defended the fucking ice cream mons back in gen V. Praying that GF, Nintendo, and TPCI go bankrupt so that the IP can be sold to a better owner.

Going to wrap up Z-A talk with some more general spoilers because they're so fucking unbelievable I feel the need to archive them here.

  • They didn't add more customization options for men, they just let men wear female customization options
  • The game was originally planned to feature:
    • mini-games
    • SV-style multiplayer
    • actually modeled buildings
    • riding Pokémon like Gogoat
  • All of the above was scrapped
  • Also I forgot to mention it but prototypes for the game leaked hours after the .xci and can be found here
  • Set 5 years after XY
  • All of Lumiose City is modeled and loaded in at once, like how all of Paldea was in SV, which makes me wonder how much of the fucking file size is just Lumiose itself
  • The game actively teases you about leaving Lumiose City, giving you a textbox option asking if you want to leave... and then teleporting you back into the city if you say yes
  • You still don't get to use Eternal Floette OR ITS NEW MEGA
  • But you can use 6 Megas on a team at once, and the game actively encourages this... defeating almost the entire point of Megas
  • The whole thing can be beaten in ~10 hours
  • this is because HALF OF THE ALPHABET IS SKIPPED, so the story that's supposed to have you rising through Z -> A rank instead has you going from Z -> V, then jumping to F rank
    • there is a silver lining to this the post game has you doing this endlessly. literally all of the post game content is just you repeating the Z -> A circuit, in full, forever. This is what that "ultimate wish" ends up being. You just repeat the shitty battle royales FOREVER. When you get to the end it just resets and you start again. FOREVER
  • Almost nobody from the original XY cast reappears. Of the few that do:
    • Sable is just kind of there, from what I understand
    • Lysandre (only referred to as "L") shows up to exposition shit and then battle you in the post game I think
    • see the finale spoilers for some AZ stuff
    • Emma is... also just there?
    • Sycamore retires off-screen and never shows up (he doesn't even give you the Kalos starters this time, Sable does)
    • literally nobody else shows up. Not one soul. There are offhanded mentions that can maybe be construed to be Diantha, Clemont, and fucking Leon of all people because Sword and Shield taint this franchise like asbestos does an old house
  • Literal stupidest climax I've ever seen. Turns out Lumiose Tower is alive. No, I'm not kidding.
    • It has a name. "Ange"
    • Given life by the ultimate weapon... somehow
    • Stretches like fucking Mister Fantastic
    1760372052955.png1760372038089.png1760372145409.png
    • Chains AZ's Floette to it and "absorbs its energy" somehow, then tries to laser all of Lumiose to death with it
      • also ripped off the XYZ anime by just stealing the whole "evil vines taking over Lumiose City" thing and only changing the culprit
  • Zygarde considers you "worthy" enough to wield it. It's got a multi-phase boss fight, then you mega evolve it and beat the shit out of the tower with Zygarde's FIVE SIGNATURE MOVES and aforementioned ridiculous stat total
    • also Zygarde's mega just looks like green Sauron the more I look at it
      • this is not a good thing. it's a very bad looking Sauron
    • one of those signature moves is a dragon-type Earthquake clone that hits Fairy types
  • AZ fucking dies off-screen during the finale and barely has a role before then
    • you can fortnite dance on his grave with the camera mode

70 dollars plus tax

Now I can't wait for the massive cope and seethe from fans trying to justify this game existing. You can like the game but you gotta admit when it's bad man, wtf.

What in the ever-loving fuck did I just read! This is actually worse than that Matrix game, with the last boss being Agent Smith dancing, and he summons a rainbow and dies.

Adding the amount of DEI in this game is mental. In S/V, it was measured, except for the Missy Elliot Gym Leader (VERY SPANISH), but in this game. This game feels quite spiteful in all honesty.

Damn, and I was hoping for a Hoenn Legends game, maybe I shouldn't ask for more at all. This looks like really fucking lame.

I remember the pokemon Special manga that X uses all 6 megas at the same time and it was something special. Even in the normal official games, megas always felt like click a button to win because of how overpowered they were.

Now the starters make more sense, this just makes me more mad though, gen 2 was great and PLA was different enough to be more fun than SwSh/SV.
They would've just added a bunch of niggers to an ancient japanese setting though.

survival-themed open world
I do not want Pokémon to be an open-world game with increasingly-unfitting systems thrown in just for the sake of novelty.
I am okay with each new game still feeling exactly like the decades of Pokémon games that came before it. I'm okay with each game basically just being a new episode that is used to explore a new place with a new story, characters, and Pokémon to find, with the biggest changes being graphics upgrades and modernizing existing systems. I don't want those systems to be completely fucking reinvented or thrown out in favor of something worse. Don't try to reinvent the wheel and give me a square wheel in its place.

I want Pokémon games to be the best version of what they are—not a bad imitation of something else.
